We walked in to get the vanilla Hello Kitty (0.5kg) cake. Didn't see a design my girl like hence I asked the staff if they have other designs. Staff was very polite & asked for child's gender before letting me know what other designs are not on the display. Very proactive & helpful I would say! The designs are so cute too! Cake is not very sweet. We like the texture of the sponge cake. It's very soft!

Bought stuff using Kris+ but staff only knew about the 10% discount privilege but did not seem to know about the $11 and $3 off $15 challenge. This is generally not an issue but staff was rude and displayed annoyance when I asked and continued to not be polite while I told her what I want. To ensure I complete the challenge, I have to calculate the price accurately so I have to ask the staff about it. Staff even rolled her eye at one stage, as if I was creating trouble for her.

The cakes here are pretty and appealing to kids. However, they are rather sweet and not very kind to one's health. The selection here is limited and not very creative. The savoury puffs score better for me. The otah puffs are delicious. The pastry is light and crisp. Service wise, not too bad. Give a 'Like' if you like this honest review.

Unfortunately, whether you are going to your day job or coming back from night shift, if you want some curry puffs for breakfast, you'd be disappointed. This branch will only opens at 10:30am, it'd be better if it opened at 08:00am. Until then, it's only one star from me, opening earlier would have earned it a few more stars...

Staff was courteous and efficient. However the bakes are saccharine sweet. I got the brownie some time back as it looks good on display but was disappointed that it tasted artificially sweet and dry. Was enticed by their display again last weekend and got the snow pear crumble, again, it has a nauseating sweetness to it. Very little pear bits. Lots of floury crumbles and a very dry cake sponge within. Definitely don’t recommend. I guess only their OG Swiss rolls are palatable.

Polar has a history of almost 100 years old since its inception at Hill Street on 30th November 1925 by an immigrant from Hong Kong to Singapore named Chan Hinky. While in Singapore in the early 1920s, he had only 90 cents in his pocket and made enough to open his first cafe in 1925 that was frequented by lawyers, judges and politicians. It had also survived World War 2 from 1942-1945. It has 30 outlets todate. The swiss rolls tasted as usual like before and my daughter bought it from Polar Puffs & Cakes North Point at Yishun.

There is a lot of room for improvements for the attitude of a senior aged staff who is working evening shift on 15!October 2023. No one owes you.
