Very disappointing experience at Polar on 29 August at around 2.38pm. We went to the shop intending to order a birthday cake. The staff member told me to place the order myself through the online platform. I asked if she could help me with the input on the tablet, but she simply told me that she did not know how to use it. My son was helping me type in my phone number. When the screen subsequently changed/disappeared, the staff member turned the tablet towards herself and immediately said, “See, see, see, the screen disappeared. It’s your son’s fault.” I found this particularly unnecessary. She herself did not know how to navigate back to the previous screen, yet chose to blame a child who was merely trying to help. When we subsequently looked for the cake we wanted, she could not find it and simply told us that the cake was not available. In the end, I navigated the website myself, found the cake on my own and successfully placed the order. I completely understand that not every staff member will be familiar with every system. However, if customers are expected to use an online ordering platform in-store, surely staff should receive sufficient training to provide basic assistance. “I don’t know, so I cannot do” should not be the end of the customer service provided. There is nothing wrong with not knowing something — but staff can be trained and can learn. What was most disappointing was the unwillingness to assist and, especially, blaming my son for something simply because the staff member did not know how to operate the system. I hope Polar will look into providing its frontline staff with proper training on its ordering platform and basic customer service.

Ordered a birthday cake for self-collection online Collection time was 12-2pm time slot. Arrived at the outlet at 1228hrs, cake was not available at outlet for collection. Waited till 1316rs for cake collection. A total waste of our time in waiting and a party is commencing. This is not acceptable in terms of logistics planning. Will not be ordering from them again.

Bad experience with Polar puff & cakes as my daughters birthday party at school was cancelled due to late delivery of cake and sugar rolls from polar. I was so devastated that day to see that my daughter was not able to celebrate with her friends at school due to late delivery of the pastries we ordered online from POLAR.. very bad service from them. I requested via email to deliver the items before 3pm because the kids will only have 30 minutes break time to celebrate. But the delivery arrived only after 3:30pm when the party time is over. Worst thing is that they don't even provide any contact details of the delivery rider or anyone to be contacted about the order...VERY POOR service. I spent almost 100sgd for that but all gone to waste because no one can eat already since the party time was over.we just blowed the cake by ourselves and daughter. WILL NEVER ORDER AGAIN FROM HERE.. OR IF NEED TO ORDER, I WILL PUT IT IN MORNING TIME DELIVERY TO MAKE SURE.. BUT VERY BAD EXPERIENCE NOW WITH THEM...
