the best Ayam penyet chain in Singapore. Very tasty and crispy. Man at the counter was also really nice, gave me more curry sauce when i asked. $7.30 for a huge chicken drumstick with thigh attached. Couldn’t finish

First time trying since they moved to Bishan. Very good Penyet, fast and friendly service. Their sambal chilli has more lime for kick and they even give you curry on your rice so it’s not dry. No tempeh but they have a lettuce leaf and cherry tomatoes. Recommended if you are looking for delicious food.

Satisfied my fried check cravings here! The chicken is well fried and tasty. Waiting time takes around 10-15mins, they will give you a buzzer so you can just sit and wait. The chili is super spicy and good! 🌶️ The price is quite steep for hawker food going for $7.30, but honestly now everything at the hawker is costing near to $10 even Cai Fan 😮‍💨

My mum loves this ayam penyet. Always request me to buy for her. I find it not bad. It's the chili. Doesn't have the usual AP kick. Worth it for the price. No tempeh tho.

This rating is for their (1) Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Set and the (2) Chicken Curry Stew Set. Have rated these dishes as 3-star as (1) just doesn't have enough of the curry gravy for the dish to work. And (2) is considered expensive with a few cut pieces of chicken. To be fair, both dishes don't taste bad. If you go at the chicken alone, it can be even considered tasty. However, since we are looking at eating these dishes with rice, one must consider that there is sufficient of the accompanying items, such as gravy, for the dishes to be successful. The spicy lemongrass chicken set uses the curry from the curry chicken stew. And even asking for a few more servings of the curry gravy, there simply isn't enough for me to finish the rice without it feeling too dry. Also, the veggie accompaniments, 2 cherry tomatoes and 2 pieces of lettuce, do not go very well with the chicken. The typical tempeh or tofu would have been much better. As a comparison, you can get a similar serving of curry chicken set from Koufu Food Court (Nanyang Delights or drinks stall) for $5 ($4 at the Outram Community Hospital outlet) and theirs include a few pieces of potatoes which make the meal much more satisfying. Koufu also offers an entire curry chicken leg + thigh. For the curry chicken stew, the stew tastes good. But for $5.50, I would say there are too few pieces of chicken (again compared to Koufu Food Court's curry chicken set). I think it's a fair comparison as Koufu offers air-conditioning too. Conclusion: For (1), will check if I can have more curry, if so, will buy again if I'm not near Koufu.

Chicken is freshly fried, and thanks, the boss gave me an extra sambal chilli 🌶 Rice's portion is generous.

Finally tried Uncle Penyet, although I've ordered Ayam Panggang instead. The taste was not bad although I really hope the chicken can be fresher. I was able to taste the "frozen chicken smell" even though the meat was drizzled with a flavourful sauce. And I would prefer a spicer chilli to go along with this dish. Overall it was acceptable meal and would try their Ayam Penyet in the near future.
