20 Jul 2026, dine in at 2pm. Overall 3.5 stars. Food 3.5 stars. Came to try their food for the 1st time as they're having SG 61 promotions. They are also having a servicemen discount in July. There was a group of 4-5 guys (presumably servicemen) ahead of me when I arrived to order at the cashier. It took quite some time before my turn (about 8-10min) as the guys were all a bit indecisive, slow & ordering individually, although they seemed to know each other. QR code payments like PayNow also took longer to go through. The cashier didn't try/help to speed up the entire process either. I ordered 2 egg pratas ($0.99 promo price, usual price $2.60 each) and paid with NETS, which went through quite quickly. When asked how long my order would take to be ready, the cashier said 10mins. Chicken curry & fish curry are available to go with the prata. Curry & cutlery are self service. I enquired on the status of my order after 10mins and the staff said it was coming. Food was served to my table only after 15mins. The egg pratas were crispy, not oily & portion size was good, but there was hardly any egg flavour - it wasn't eggy enough for me. A bit disappointing after seeing rave reviews about their egg prata. Their usual price of $2.60 each would be a bit too expensive (for a food item that's just flour, water, ghee, salt & egg). The curries weren't very tasty on their own individually, but tasted much better together. Good to slather both the chicken & fish curries on the prata for better flavour. I would probably come again to try their plain prata if I have a craving & am in the vicinity. But I wouldn't go out of my way for the food here otherwise. Staff are responsive enough, but could be more friendly & welcoming. There are seats inside the restaurant/eatery (air-con) and outside (non air-con). They only accept cash, NETS/NETS QR, PayNow, PayLah. PayWave & credit cards not accepted.

The prata and thosai were delicious. Unfortunately, the chutneys served with the thosai were disappointing and lacked flavour. The dining area is quite small with limited seating. If you’ve finished your meal and would like to continue chatting, please be considerate and free up your table for other customers who are waiting to eat. During my visit, several people were waiting for seats, but some diners continued their conversations despite clearly seeing others waiting. As for the service, there was an issue with my drink order. I ordered 2 teh tarik and 2 coffees. While the staff was entering the order, I noticed he had keyed in 4 coffees instead. I immediately pointed out that it should be 2 teh tarik and 2 coffees. He nodded and verbally confirmed the correct order, but the screen still showed 4 coffees. I pointed at the screen again, and he nodded once more, reassuring me that the order was correct. However, when the drinks were served, all four were coffees. Overall, the prata and thosai were worth trying, but the chutneys, service accuracy, and limited seating could definitely be improved.

Hands down one of the best iced pulled drinks I have a had The layers in this drink look amazing and the taste is even better. It has the perfect rich, creamy balance, and that thick, frothy foam on top makes every sip so satisfying. It’s incredibly refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet

Visited Springleaf Prata Place (Downtown East) and honestly very disappointing experience. We ordered Maggi Goreng, Chettinad prawn biryani, mutton biryani and teh tarik. The only decent item was the tea — everything else was below expectations. The biggest issue was the “mutton biryani”. It was not biryani at all — it felt like plain tomato rice served with mutton curry separately. On top of that, the mutton itself was very hard and chewy, which made it even worse. The prawn biryani was also not good in terms of taste and authenticity. Overall, the food lacked flavour and did not match what was expected from a place known for Indian cuisine. Very underwhelming experience. Would not recommend for biryani.
