nasilemakayamtaliwang @ Jalan Besar. I ordered takeaway: one Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah with extra chilli and taliwang sauce. If you love spicy food, you should ask for more chilli or pay for an additional tub of chilli to go with your meal. Both stall servers were fast, calm, and efficient. Try a different flavour each time you visit them—you will never regret it. As my office is nearby, I decided to try every dish they serve. First, I loved their noodles with taliwang sauce; now I love their Ayam Berempah. The chicken is big enough and comes with lots of anchovies.

Best ikan bilis I tasted in my life freshly fried crunchy & touch of sweetness. Rice has excellent texture, nice firm glutinous rice like "al-dente" bite, s ubtle lemon grass gragrance, a twist of uniqueness best I tasted in my life if a little more coconut milk is added -- a regretable cost cutting compromise, I would rather pay more for the missing "lemak". Get rid of the egg ring & over cooked yolk. Traditional sunny side up with crusty fragrant caramelised edge & runny yolk would be heavenly on the rice. Deep fried chicken, seasoning is missing. Suggest owner try KL' famous Nasi Lemak & Malacca's Peranakan Place. Yes, unfair comparison, many time more expensive & long wait, but we are striving for perfection -- Michellin Bib Award 2026 & future. Subjective personal opinion, I suspect 2025 Michellin Bib Award Killer: Chicken deep fry oil reused on fried egg. First bite, egg adulterated by stale fried chicken oil -- taste of low standard food. Overall, very satisfying meal at an affordable price, nice & cool breeze from fans all around, basement effectively buffers the heavy traffic noise. No long quee or over crowded lunch crowd during lunch time but reasonably occupied suits the tranquility loving introvert in me best. Above needs monor tweaks for perfection. Yes, I will bring more company back to dig in the unique textured rice & crunchy ikan bolis.

One of the best nasi lemak spots I’ve tried! The rice is fragrant and fluffy, with a rich coconut aroma, and the sambal has the perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and everything tasted fresh. The portion was generous, the prices were reasonable, and the staff were friendly. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to whenever I’m craving a good plate of nasi lemak. Highly recommended!

The nasi lemak ayam taliwang is quite good actually. Chicken is tender and juicy. The only thing not so good is the ikan bills which is not crispy. Not that I will order more sauce but additional sauce cost 60 cts which I think is quite high. Yet to try the rest, not much people when I order. May 2026, I had lunch here with friends, who chose to sit on the upper deck. While exploring the lower deck, I came across a nasi lemak stall and decided to order from it and bring the food upstairs so we could eat together. The stall appears to be part of a franchise, and since the reviews were fairly positive, I decided to give it a try—especially because my previous experience at the Plaza Singapura outlet was disappointing. This time, the nasi lemak was much better. The food was well prepared, nicely presented, and tasted good overall. My only feedback is that the rice could use a richer coconut flavor and less ginger. Ginger is not typically found in classic nasi lemak rice. A stronger pandan aroma would also enhance the fragrance and overall appeal of the dish. Prices are reasonable, and the service was satisfactory. Overall, a pleasant and improved experience compared to my previous visit.
