Very nice epok epok by this elderly Malay couple . Other than the normal potato and sardine epok epok. They also sell Roti Boyan that's not commonly seen in Singapore, its sold as a set with sambal ikan bilis. The roti taste quite plain on its own but taste so good with the sambal ikan bilis.

I read in Hidayah Amin's book " kuih" that epok 2 is from the word berepok , to wrap in a big hug, in the manner that the filling is encased in a pastry and neatly crimped into crescent shaped pillow. Each epok2 is handmade and fried in batches in situ which guarantees a mouthful of delight Crispy pastry, curry coated potatoes, some with sardine and onion filling and a seemingly unusual filling , ikan bilis. However, the couple is getting on and not always at the stall. So do check ahead if making a special trip down for this

Curry puffs like old school, no frills, simple yet tasty, 80 cents for potato with 1/4 egg. Served by cheery makcik. While there, saw an order for >10 curry puffs

Got a curry puff and roti boyan. I like it when it's still hot when i eat it, and the edge was so crispy. Curry puff has delicious filling and a small piece of egg. Roti boyan tasted so good with the sambal. I always see them sold out everything early, and sardines was always the first one to finish.
