Mr Grumpy Nasi Ayam is a good spot for a satisfying plate of nasi ayam goreng. I visited on a Sunday evening and was pleasantly surprised that there was no queue, so ordering was quick and hassle-free The fried chicken lived up to expectations - crispy and well-seasoned on the outside while remaining juicy and tender on the inside. The fragrant rice, sambal, crispy crumbs, and accompanying soup completed the meal nicely. At $7 for a plate, it’s reasonably priced for the portion and quality

Really crispy chicken and even though I have it takeaway, it still remains crispy and juicy. The fried bits added a lot of crunch to it. The rice was really fragrant and taste like those old school chicken rice. Chili packs a punch too. Downside is I felt really thirsty after so I guess there’s some MSG to it. And no veggie options prob because I was there on a weekday dinner.

The staff are friendly. Really like their fried chicken and rice. The chilli is not spicy (I personally prefer more spicy) but it goes well with the chicken and rice. Bagadel is decent.

Rice has no nasi lemak fragrance, chicken is dry and tasteless, not properly marinated, chilli sauce is too sweet and not tasty, if this is #1 nasi lemak in town, I can conclude that this town has No good nasi lemak. Very disappointed

Food was average. Portion size fairly large. Price was reasonable but not budget meal. Service is not applicable as this is a hawker stall. Overall, it’s a decent meal and one of the better Nasi Lemak options in Singapore, though the flavour and taste are still average when compared to Malaysia—especially places like Petaling Jaya in Selangor. In that regard, Malaysia still does it better 🇲🇾.
