Arrived 11.50 & joined the queue which seems to move very slowly, got to the front at about 12.15 to see the guy who was supposed to be making up the dishes mucking around on his phone. Very friendly service though, super moist & tasty chicken, I did think a little more rice would have been good but, in saying that, I didn't go hungry. I would definately come back again, maybe a little earlier next time.

What can I say? Really ! what can I say about u? It’s the finest fried chicken rice I ever ate, even though I ate you few times and standard is still there! I just love your chicken which is juicier than those that I have tried elsewhere. And so generous on the chicken meat (so big piece), on top of this you still have given us plenty of crumbs. One word POWER lah Boss. As usual, your chicken rice is so fragrant, i will keep coming even it’s a little far for me. And not forgetting your Chili sauce is also POWER ! So guys try it when u are around Lucky plaza, they are Located at Level 6. Look for Fiie’s Cafe. U won’t regret. Cheers & enjoy his awesome Fried chicken rice.

The fried chicken is da bomb! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! The lightly flavoured rice goes extremely well with the chicken. This portion of chicken rice with special request of thigh meat is reasonably priced at $6. The restaurant gained a reputation of being rude to customers but I personally thought that the claims were unjust. Indeed, they insisted customers order and collected their food before geting a seat. This sequence ensures that all diners get a seat in this small restaurant. Besides, while they were firm about this, I've never seen them shouting at customers. Do give them a break.

Succulent juicy fried chicken. Not sure what the uncle uses for the batter but is freaking delicious. At $9 a set, this is a tremendous deal. No wonder you see long queues, the hype about this place is real. Thank goodness for that viral video, without it I would’ve never discover this place. Without a doubt will comeback again.

It's a myth! He's actually nice. Just make sure you get your order out quick. The man has a long long line of customers...The star is the fried chicken of course, perfectly cooked with a spice marinated not much different to Village Park in KL. But the side dishes are to die for as well..

chicken was not bad, the key highlight was the crispy skin which was v well seasoned. chicken rice was ok too. felt chilli was abit too sweet and the soup was very salty. overall an average meal.

I used to come here quite often when my office was in Ngee Ann City. The old owner (senior Malay lady) was very friendly. Today I came back here after 7 years relocating to another city. I was in complete shock. - Food: no longer good! Chilli paste now is too sweet. Chicken is not as tender as how they used to be. - Service: cannot be worse. The grumpy man who used to chop chicken is now the person in charge. He was scolding his customers with very bad voice and attitude even though they didn't do anything wrong. One gentleman was asking me if he could take the seat next to me. I said he should ask the staff because seats are assigned to customers by the grumpy man. The grumpy saw that gentleman talked to me and he started yelling "Sit down right there! You listen to me! Don't listen to them! ( while pointing his finger at me). I missed that owner lady and asked the grumpy man " how is aunty?", he said "not here!". I said "oh, haven't seen her for a few years!" he yelled "not here, that's why!". I was so shock! No one has ever been this rude to me as their customers in my life. I will never return.

Nasi Ayam goreng. Chicken is fried till crispy. Chicken meat is tender and succulent. Savoury rice. Didn’t touch too much of the chilli because it’s sweet - not my preference. Overall nice. Follow seating instructions given. All for the seating system as it allows for an efficient allocation of seats for diners.

Came for a weekend late lunch. There was a crowd and queue, even close to 3pm. Wanted to order the $9 chicken rice combo, but the quail's eggs and bagedil were already out. Luckily, the chicken were in abundance. Also, thanks to the fast turnover and the constant crowd, you don't have to worry about your chicken being cold. So the rule is, queue first and order, then get your seat after. If you happen to come during the peak lunch hour period, Shafiie (the owner) will assign the seats. Don't expect courtesy and warmth from the staff present, nonetheless the service was orderly and relatively fast considering the crowd. There was no chaos, at least on the day of the visit. Food wise, the rice is lacking in flavor. Soup tastes like those served with mee soto, nothing to shout about. The star is undoubtedly the chicken which was still piping hot and tender. The batter is not thick but enough to coat the chicken in a very crispy layer. Came with a chilli condiment, which is sweet and not spicy, like those served with nasi lemak. Overall, the chicken was the standout and deserves recognition. The rest of the meal was average at best.

One of the best ayam goreng in Singapore. Chicken is crispy, succulent, and fragrant. The sambal paired with the fluffy rice. The sides of gizzard and quail eggs were a treat too. Overall, best run stall. No frill deliciousness in the heart of Orchard.

Chicken was star of the dish and fried to perfection. Rice was light and fragrant and sambal was well made. Long queue but moving and owner manages crowd well.

First thing to note: Go straight to the queue, he will tell you where to sit based on how many of you came together. Don’t go and sit down to chope. Chicken was nice and crispy, while being moist. Soup is nice and peppery I like it. Chilli a little on the sweet side, not for me. Overall, worth the try!

Chef is really always angry, intimidating every customer. Rolled his eyes when told him ordering for 6. Shop has no clear indication on how to queue and wait for orders also, chef will also call you out rudely to collect The chicken and the rice is actually nice, but $10 is a tad expensive for the set meal with 2 sides , chicken and canned drink

Overall the rice was ok, fried chicken by right should be good. But was not hot, it was cold when served even though the Q was long. So is hard rather than crispy. Seats are limited, please NOTE: order first before getting a seat. They will allocate your seat upon ordering. Not suitable for large group, maximum 3Pax. Personally I feel not worth Q’ing.

Very nice fried chicken rice. One of the better Malay style chicken rice. $10 for combo set quite ok pricing for town. Fried chicken is very nice. Saw one guy order extra two piece 😂 Rice slightly fragrant but a bit too mushy for my liking. Chili more like nasi lemak style and goes well with the rice. Side dish is pretty normal. Main selling point is the chicken which is nicely marinated and crispy. Ps: the boss seems friendly to me 😂. Not as bad temper as what others claim

Visited on a Saturday at 3pm and there was still a queue of about 10 people in front of me! Heard experience about the boss so I tried to be as 'obedient' as possible, monkey see monkey do what the other diners are doing. Basically you just follow a queue in a straight line opposite the shop and you move to the seat only when someone has left. Then you walk to the counter and order your food and pay and wait to be called to pick up the food. The guy was really grumpy with a super black face but I don't see anyone getting scolded by him. The only thing I saw was a sudden big group of people leaving and new diners getting their seats and crowding at the counter, he did say something to ask people not to block the way in a soft and not very nice tone. I wanted to order the combo but the sides were sold out, so I just told him I'll have the ala carte. Food was prepared immediately and I paid when I got the food. I would say the rice was fragrant, soup was flavourful and the chicken well fried. I loved the batter and how crispy it was, but do expect some parts of the meat to be moist and some to be dry when you get a bit of a mix between the wings and the breast meat. The normal meal costs 6 dollars which was quite reasonable. It was quite a quiet meal I guess everyone just wanted to eat and go and not get a scolding from the boss. Would give it a 3.5 than a 3 instead.

I finally got to try this famous chicken rice last week. Came at abt 2-3pm food is almost finished. Rice is good, moist and tasty. Chicken skin is nice and crispy. Soup is a little too much spices for my taste (not spicy, but the spices used abit strong) The fierce and good-looking owner can speak mandarin.

15min queue from 1130hrs isn’t too bad. Awesome crispy succulent chicken, fragrant rice and soup. Shiok. Back again. Same succulent chicken but missing the crispy stuff on the rice but still shiok. Note: No need to look for a seat. Just queue to order your food. Your seat will be assigned for you. Large groups of friends may not be able to sit together. Clear your tray promptly after meal so that your seat can be reassigned.

Shhhhhh... Have to be fast when eating at this outlet. Went on a weekday before the lunch crowd came! I came with 4 of my friends and we ordered the combo meal which came with 2 sides and 1 drink ( $10). The food is totally worth the hype! The rice is fluffy and fragrant; the soup was flavourful; the chicken has a cripsy exterior with a juicy meat! Every part of the food was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. We actually came to see the boss scolding people but ended up we got told off. Hahahaha. What an experience!

$6:80 for chicken rice. Rice is fragrant and sambal is to my liking, neither too sweet nor spicy. Chicken is freshly cooked to each order. Batter is nice but meat is not well marinated enough. Having said that, will revisit again.

JL "Would I go back?" verdict: Not ever. Well, I stumbled in here after falling prey to a TikTok hype about their "deliciously crunchy" fried chicken. Turns out, the chicken was as flavorful as a cardboard cutout. The only thing worth tasting was the outer batter, which probably had more seasoning than the chicken itself. As for the soup; it was so salty I could feel my blood pressure rising with each spoonful and the sambal was sugary sweet. But oh, the pièce de résistance of this establishment was the owner's charming personality. His demeanor was a delightful mix of solemn, rude, and "you owe me your patronage" vibes. It was like he was doing me a favor by allowing me to grace his shop with my presence. I must say, his attitude was so appetizing, I lost my hunger quicker than you can say "customer service". So if you're craving not just a meal but also a side of disdain, this place is a must-visit.
