Saw all the reels online ‘bout how wonderful delicious and I decided to swing over Toa Payoh lor4 to have a try… was past lunch time so glad I didn’t have to Q, ordered their Signature Nasi Ayam, found an empty seat and time to dig in! Not like I’m disappointed but I guess online reels often tend towards a certain biases 😅 lol…. My opinion? it’s just MiD lah, first and last try, thanks! You know what makes me grumpy? Seeing a wok full of oil that turned black from deep frying…. 🙆🏾♂️ i.e. max carcinogenic 😖

The chicken was well-fried and remained moist, while the rice was fragrant, and the chili leaned toward the sweeter side. The quail egg was a bit hard, but the sambal it was cooked in was flavorful. The bergedil was decent. The staff were friendly and full of laughter, creating a warm atmosphere and the coffee shop was quite crowded.

The famous Grumpy Fried Chicken Rice! This outlet, people not that grumpy. That is a plus. The chicken is the star. Juicy, tasty batter. Definitely worth the $6.50 they charge for the signature set. The sides were so so. Cant complain about them. Only $1 for sambal quail eggs or 1 begedel. They are just there to compliment, not steal the show. Worth a visit if you are around the area.
