The picture shows the food I threw away. Chicken is rubbery, rice is clumpy, sambal is not spicy. The fact that this can get more than 100 four- and five-star reviews simply shows that people here don’t know what good food is.

Super affordable and good Nasi Ayam at heartlands of Bedok! The chicken was juicy and crispy, loved how well it paired with the sambal and sides. Soup was herby and delicious too 😋

Came down to try the Signature Nasi Ayam Set alongside 3 sides, with the bergedil being my favourite thanks to the crispy exterior and creamy potato filling! I also loved the crispy golden crumbs in every bite. Lucky enough to catch a fresh batch of fried chicken, and the drumstick was fresh, tender and juicy! 🍗

The rice was fragrant and well-seasoned, while the fried chicken had a satisfying crispiness, though slightly on the drier side for my liking. The first bite was incredibly delicious and indulgent, but towards the end of the meal, the richness became a bit overwhelming for my taste buds. That said, the soup was also enjoyable and full of spices.

We’ve ordered this several times now, mostly via Grab whenever the craving for chicken rice and fried chicken hits. The fragrant rice is cooked in a style similar to Hainanese chicken rice, with a really pleasant aroma. The fried chicken is well done — it stays fairly crispy even after delivery. The batter carries a nice turmeric fragrance, and the meat remains reasonably juicy. We also like that the chicken is “smashed” before serving, which makes it much easier to pull apart. The quail egg and perkedel are solid side dishes that complement the rice nicely. My only wish is for the sambal to have a stronger, more homemade punch (and a slightly coarser texture) — it currently leans a bit on the sweet side.
