I saw this on Food tales (Netflix) yesterday so being the food lover that I am ....I immediately looked for their nearest outlet 820 Tampines St 81 this morning. It was a great disappointment. The signature dish Ayam Taliwang which obviously was to feature the chicken leg that was supposed to have been pressure cooked with spices then grilled to give it the smoky taste was "PAN FRIED" !!! There was no slice made on the leg to absorb the marinade so not only was it blend but it was hard and dry with the skin akin to chewing gum. The Taliwang sauce was too spicy for me but was sweet and tasty and would probably appeal to the masses. On the bright side the rice was rich and aromatic and simply delicious. My hubby took the chicken wing set and the wing was fried to perfection and full of flavour. Verdict- Get the usual chicken wing set.

Best of both worlds of Nasi Lemak with sambal chili combined with Taliwang (Indon styled Ayam Bakar)… the only problem I have is having only 1 stomach to choose from the different options. Sambal with ikan bilis and peanuts + egg enough to fill for a meal… difficult choice between starting the meal with Taliwang or Lemak Rice. Seen many customers with empty plates at the tray return, thats a sign of a good meal. Stall can be overwhelmed with delivery orders during peak periods.

The star of all their dishes is without a doubt the fragrant and flavourful rice. Although the grilled chickens were tender and fragrant, they tasted bland. The saving grace for them was the variety of sauces that can be slathered on top of the chicken. The sauces were addictive, and the spiciness is sure to ravage your intestinal tract. Sambal was decent and not too oily, one thing to improve on would be the ikan bilis kacang as they were a tad bit over-fried. Having said that, the store was only managed by a single staff and was bombarded with orders from diners and various food delivery platforms, which might have attributed to the quality of food served.

I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious plate of Nasi Lemak, courtesy of Wilson Wu from Tampines West. The experience was made even better by his kind treat. The fragrant coconut rice was a delightful base, perfectly cooked to aromatic perfection. The chicken wing, however, carried a surprising twist as its marinade resembled the bold and flavorful notes of Indian muruku spices. The inclusion of a hotdog felt ordinary in comparison to the other elements. Overall, this Nasi Lemak leaned towards the "yummy and good" side of the taste spectrum, offering a mix of flavors that created a satisfying meal. While some aspects like the unique chicken wing stood out, the dish managed to maintain an average appeal, leaving a positive impression of a well-rounded culinary experience.

Ordered 2x ayam cabe ijo to go. Rice - fluffy fragrant tasty rice that can be eaten by itself. Generous peanuts provided, with some ikan bilis. Still crispy after an hour. Sambal - nasi lemak sambal is well cooked with a micro sweetness. Cabe ijo - delicious, medium spiciness. Egg - nice fried runny egg Chicken leg - soft and tender. Didn't really taste the spices, but still good. Service was prompt and packed in a box. Good option against crave Nasi lemak. The environment / kopitiam is not very conducive to have my meal here. Not sure why, but it felt gloomy and messy vs when it was Mr teh tarik operated kopitiam. So zero star for the atmosphere.

The chicken meat is tender and nicely deepfried. The rice has coconut flavour but a tad too wet. The star ? The chilli sambal. Not quite Michelin standard

Holy aromatic fragrance rice ! Yes Michelin star standards 👍 Sweet chilli sauce. A tasting experience for kids learning to eat chilli also. Staffs were attentive. The moment any customers approach, they take initiative take order. Keep it up Taliwang !!

Try Nasi Ayam Taliwang. The chicken is soft & tender but might not well marinated (or intentionally?) the taste is mainly from the souce. The taliwang souce is sweet, a little bit spicier even better. The rice is aromatic

Literally the only Singaporean nasi lemak franchise I trust. There's nothing mediocre at all on the menu. All the sambals are delicious, the ingredients are amazing and it's all very good value for money. The smokiness of the ayam Taliwang really stands out and the rice is soft, fluffy, fragrant and truly 'lemak'. I also love that unlike so many other places in Singapore, the fried eggs here are never overcooked.

Chicken grilled just nice with soft meat. Rice is soft and filled with coconut fragrance. The Taliwang sauce is not your regular nasi lemak sambal chilli. It taste sweet spicy and different. To me the spiciness is medium but I wouldn’t recommend if you can’t eat spicy. It will be super spicy for you.

I tried the food from their branch in Banda Street in Chinatown. I ordered a set number 7 as takeaway. The chicken was nice and crispy even though I ate it some 3.5 hrs after buying it. The sambal and ikan bilis were also delicious . The rice could do with more santan, as it wasn't up to the mark. The otak was a disappointment as it was rather hard and flavour wise it also missed the mark. In all honesty there was nothing exceptional about the buffet food.

Sambal is powerful, u can even eat it with the rice. Its spicy enough to give a punch yet sweet enough. This nasi lemak is better than crave. Rice is soft and fluffy, not very coconut taste but fragrant yet not too salty. Will come back again to eat.
