The laksa taste really like home cook laksa taste. Soup is tasty too. With a lot of bean sprout every mouth is so crunchy and shiok. The Mee rebus is not bad too. Sometimes they close quite early, like 7.30pm all food sold out already. So if you really want yo eat be there early. Service is good as well.

Nice Nasi Lemak, but the fried fish have been replaced with a very meagre amount of peanut and ikan bilis. Laksa was ok. It was supposed to be a nice and quiet Monday brunch but the staff spoke loudly and broke the peace.

On 6th May. Staff by the name of gui ping is extremely rude . Was placing order in the morning. The staff was using her phone and has very bad attitude & show her “ black” face . Looks like I have disturbed he on browsing her phone. I ‘m in the rush and was asking her if can help to speed up a bit. She was reluctant to put her phone away. She said the bread also need to Taoist and how it be speedy. And keep murmured away and start scolding away. Very bad customer service and attitude. Worst experience ever. I really urge @1983 HQ has to seriously look into this.

Food is average. The problem here is the PRICING. I ordered a curry chicken SET at $6.50. I up-sized my drinks to a large lime juice, only to be charged a full price of $3.20 for it. Note that the upsize from normal size to large size is merely 40cents. So i asked the counter what drinks can i get if i dunwan to top up any money. To my surprise he answered me every drinks need to top up. It seems puzzling and confusing. If i am being charged 40cents on top of $6.50, i am okay, but now i am being charged a full price. Yes $1 was taken away from the price, but still it doesnt make sense. So all in all, the counter also cannot answer me what drinks i can get to just pay $6.50. Price mislapse, or price scam?

The best mee rebus I had so far. Right balance of sweetness and spiciness. Served piping hot and generous with ingredients. A set meal with a choice of drinks goes for only SGD 5.50. I paired it with lime juice and it greatly satisfied my craving. The place is neat and tidy. Service is fast too.

Writing about food can be fun because you get to share your thoughts and feelings about something you like. You may like something your parent or grandparent makes, or you may have a favorite food from a restaurant. Here is one writer’s food review. My mom’s cheeseburgers are the best. She starts with ground beef from Matt’s Butcher Shop. His ground beef is fresh and has the perfect ratio of meat and fat for flavor. Then my mom grills the meat because she says it is a healthy way to cook. But it is more than that. Grilling keeps the burger really juicy and locks in the flavor. Next, she places a piece of cheese on each burger. She always makes sure the cheese is melted perfectly. Right at the end, she puts each burger on a bun. But instead of ordinary soft buns, she uses bakery hard rolls. I wish I were biting into one right now. In her review, the writer elaborates or includes added detail (in italics) to make each main point clear and effective. Your Turn Write a review of a favorite food or meal. Think of a favorite food or meal. (It could be something homemade or from a restaurant.) Decide how you want to describe the food. The writer above tells, step by step, how the food is prepared. You could also describe how it looks and tastes. List details to include in your review. Write your review. Look for places where you can elaborate or add special details. Share your final copy with your classmates.

Always good to find a decent selection of affordable local cafe that serves breakfast to lunch dishes, like Chee Cheong fun, rice dumplings, Chwee kueh, some classic assortment of cakes etc. Place was empty during weekday late afternoon. Also love the robust packaging for their drinks.

Sour aftertaste for coffee, cake is oily and stale looking. All are served in paper cups, filmsy paper plates and plastic cutlery. Won't be back again.
