Came to Ria for the Oxtail soup but it was sold out (it must be good!) but settled for a combo of Bakso Malang, IGA Bakar and Tahu Tempe Penyet. The Bakso Malang is perfect if you don't know what you want. It's favourable soup is swimming with a variety of crispy fish wontons, beef balls and crispy tofu skin. The IGA Bakar came recommended by the staff and was a soft, chewy and slightly sweet beef dish that was quickly devoured!

Ayam Penyet Ria is the best place to enjoy authentic Indonesian fried chicken. Their sambal is my absolute favourite. As an Indonesian, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience delicious and authentic Indonesian cuisine. I also love the Preston branch because it's spacious, family-friendly, and has plenty of room to park a pram.

Please note this place give you something for free if you give them a good rating which explains why it's so highly rated, unlike many of the other reviews, we didn’t have a positive experience here. They offer QR code ordering from the table with a 1.7% surcharge. Card payments also attract a 1.5% surcharge, while customers paying cash receive a 5% discount. During our visit, the staff were completely run off their feet processing a nonstop stream of Uber Eats orders, which seemed to take priority over the customers dining in. It took a very long time for our food to arrive, and the dishes came out in a random order despite us ordering entrees and mains. The food itself was good, but by the time it arrived we were already disappointed with the overall experience, so we quickly ate and left. I did feel sorry for the staff because they were clearly overwhelmed. Better communication about how busy or short-staffed they were would have made a big difference, as we could have adjusted our expectations from the beginning. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn’t bother returning.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Ayam Penyet Ria Preston. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The sambal was rich, flavorful, and had just the right level of spiciness. The portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. If you're looking for authentic Indonesian food, this is definitely a place worth visiting. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be coming back!

The Iga Bakar here is one of the best I’ve had in Preston. The ribs are very tasty, tender, and full of rich, smoky flavor. The sambal adds a nice kick that makes the dish even better. Portions are also quite big, so it’s definitely worth the price and very satisfying. Highly recommended if you’re craving authentic Indonesian grilled ribs!
