This had been on my to-try list for quite some time, as I’m always curious about smaller, non-chain stalls that may offer a more home-cooked taste. I bought three each of the potato and sardine epok-epok. They came from a freshly fried batch, were served warm and even remained warm after the 10-minute drive home. While the crust stayed crispy, the pastry was disappointingly thick—probably among the thickest I’ve had. This may be their style, but I personally prefer a thinner, lightly crisp shell. The fillings didn’t fare much better. The potato lacked the curry punch and fragrance of spices I usually look for. The sardine filling was similarly bland, without the usual chilli or spice, and tasted as though it had been sitting for some time rather than freshly prepared. Perhaps my expectations were too high after bookmarking this place for so long, but based on this visit, it would be difficult to justify a return.

They used to be my fav epok epok and I can whack a few pcs at one shot. The outside crust is still crispy but somehow the inside taste different even though the ingredients inside got more portion? I have to admit it has been a long while since I last had them as I stay quite far from bedok.. Also I was quite surprise that they increase the price to $1.20.... another review 3 months back said it was $1 back then.. hmm.. its still a decent epok for me.. but wouldnt purposely detour to get back anymore..

Started eating when it was 50 cents and was very yummy previously. Ever since they moved to centralised kitchen, their standard dropped tremendously. Prices have increased and their sales tactics weren't admirable. More than once, we would ask to buy 6 or 8 but they suggested to buy 10. When we asked what's the price for 10 curry puffs, it's the same price per unit as 6 or 8. Then why would we buy more. Last straw is today, the price went up further and it's now $1.20 per puff and standard dropped further. No wonder when I reached there earlier, there was no queue. No customer at all.

If you’re looking for a solid snack in Bedok, Yang’s Epok-Epok is definitely worth the visit. Here’s why: • Fresh & Piping Hot: The turnover here is high, which means you’re almost guaranteed a batch that is freshly cooked. The filling stays incredibly hot, so be careful on that first bite! • Delicious & Filling: These aren't those hollow, airy puffs. They are packed with flavor and surprisingly filling, making them a perfect mid-day treat or a light meal. • Worth the Wait: There is usually a slight queue, but it moves efficiently. You’ll notice a lot of people placing large orders—likely for group parties or office gatherings—which is always a good sign that the quality is consistent even in bulk. Overall, a must-try if you're in the East. Just be prepared to wait a few minutes while they fry up the next fresh batch!
