I have no idea why I paid $15.50 for this breakfast: Shokupan Toast & Egg Platter (Shokupan toast, turkey ham, cheddar cheese, sunny side up egg, butter and side salad) + hot tea. I was expecting Shokupan toast as in the Japanese milk bread; thick and fluffy. But it tasted like regular white bread. Also for this price point, I thought there will be 2 eggs… felt kinda cheated though they didn’t cheat me. #iykwim

30/5/2026, i came to have coffee at Sembawang Coffeebean. Service was good. I accidentally left my blue sling wallet behind in a rush to catch my tada. For 3 days i was searching for my wallet. Traced to Tada, etc places and i was using the card in that wallet to pay for coffee. Kithini the staff at coffeebean had kept it thinking i would return on the same day and the next day, sent my lost item to cuatomer service at Sembawang shopping centre. 8 had alot of payment cards ans cash in other currency and it was intact. I m grateful to Kithini. I wanted to get her drinks n food to appreciate but she politely said its her j9b and i do not need to reward her. Kithini, i m definitely impressed with your integrity and your professional service standard. I hope you do well in Coffee bean. You deserve a star award.

It’s been months since Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf last offered a meatless breakfast set, so I’m really glad to see the new Japanese Bagel breakfast set on the menu. It’s great to have a meatless option again, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try it with my friend soon.

on december 19, around 9pm-ish, my friend and i went to cbtl. my friend ordered takeaway while i went to the counter to order in person. we were served by a male staff named lalizen. firstly, he looked like he didn’t even want to be there, as if someone was forcing him to work. there wasn’t a single “hi”, “hello”, or any form of greeting at all. secondly, he slid the drink and plate across the table, which i found extremely rude. on top of that, the table we sat at was sticky and even had ants on it. there was another female staff working, and we noticed that she was doing her usual closing duties. meanwhile, lalizen was just lazing around near the espresso machine and then disappeared for a good 10 minutes while the female staff was handling most of the work. when he finally returned from his little 'intermission', he started talking to the female staff. and when i say “talking”, i mean shouting across the outlet like it was a wet market at 7am. both of them were yelling back and forth, completely ignoring the fact that there were customers sitting right there. i know cbtl has very strict sops and all, but what’s the point of having them if your staff are going to treat the café like a market?

My son recently ordered chicken pasta and the ultimate mocha for me at SSC Coffeebean on 29 Dec 2025. I must commend the establishment for their exceptional food and beverages. The staff members, Farah and Lalizen (I hope I have their names correct), were exceedingly polite and recommended the perfect meal and drink. I wish SSC Coffeebean continued success and hope that both Farah and Lalizen maintain their exemplary service at the outlet. It would be well-deserved for them to receive a salary increase in recognition of their hard work.
