At 6.20pm peak dinner time, they were out of rice, bee hoon, mee siam. The staff told me they had curry chicken but i wld have to pay the same without rice or bee hoon. The staff said rice was already being cooked and to come back in 10 mins, but after 10 mins, she said another 10 mins. Even after the second wait, she said it was not ready and would not be so fast. If staff do not know the cooking time of rice, then they should not waste customers' time.

Lao Chang Kee is a well-known, long-established fried snack shop in Singapore, with stores everywhere, making it easy to buy snacks while traveling. The prices are generally affordable, and the overall taste is authentically Southeast Asian. Their signature curry puffs have a crispy outer layer and a rich, flavorful curry filling made with generous ingredients. Their various fried balls and chicken wings also have a homely and delicious flavor, making them perfect for afternoon tea snacks. The downside is that everything is fried, so it tends to be oily and high in salt. The taste deteriorates significantly when it cools down. The quality of oil used varies from branch to branch, with some shops having a stronger oily smell. The taste is generally average, nothing particularly amazing, purely a nostalgic snack enjoyed by locals for everyday cravings. Tourists can simply try it out. I bought a youtiao for today breakfast. But it is not ok . It was bought for a reasonable price, so it should be sold with goodwill. The inside isn’t cooked — it just tastes like raw flour. Very disappointed 😩
