Using ntuc app to order food, after discount is $5.49 for small. Taste is ok, can taste more than just black sauce, has some savory but lack of the fire wok hey smell. Service is friendly, only down side is the price and portion is small and expensive.

I was at Paya Lebar Square the other day and I drop by the renovated Cantine. It’s clean and spacious. There are many tables and seats. Remember to use FairPrice app to enjoy deals and discounts. I will find time to review the food stalls another time!

This rating is for the dumpling ban mian store. Not nice. Not nice. The soup is too sweet with artificial taste. The mushroom is bitter. Ban mian is not Q or chewy. Look okay but taste is not okay. Not recommended.

This plate of rice plus dishes costs $16. Quality of food is not great, but passable for a normal malay store. Quite ridiculous pricing.

After renovation and everything, the atmosphere is “OK”. Nothing to be so amazed about. The whole Cantine overcharges their food for a bad quality of food and services. Went to get Steamed chicken rice from one of the store. Chicken is “UNCOOKED” (how am i sure? I’ve been working in the kitchen for years, and was from a culinary school). Rice? Doesn’t have a basic “Chicken rice, rice”, Soup? “Felt like i’m just drinking tap water with a little bit of chicken stock, salt, green onion and friend shallots. A plate of chicken rice cost me about $6. I could’ve went somewhere else to get a better quality food with foodcourt quality. Really disappointing…

I ordered from the Malay food; this plate cost me $10.20 EXTREMELY overpriced. i got two veggies, one potato, and one “ikan bilis with peanuts” with VERY FEW ikan bilis. so I paid $10 for basically just veggies and no meat? the veggies were tough and not fresh either. I understand that these air-conditioned food courts sell things at higher price but $10 for all veggies is just unacceptable. There are other places selling the same things, at more affordable prices with fresh ingredients. Will not be patronising again.
