I had an unfortunate experience at Anas Bakery regarding the use of a community voucher. The voucher indicated that it could be used at participating merchants, and there was even a sign displayed behind the cashier showing that the voucher was accepted, so I attempted to use it during my visit. However, the staff seemed unsure about whether the voucher was applicable. I patiently waited for about 15 minutes while they checked, and I was completely fine if they had simply said they were unsure or that it could not be used. I’m also okay to walk away and even come back another day once things are clarified. What left a negative impression was being told that I was trying to misuse the voucher to claim their products, and that it would be a problem if everyone behaved like me. I felt this was unnecessary, especially when the situation could have been handled more neutrally. I understand that confusion can happen, but a more measured and respectful response would have made the experience much better.

After years of patronising this shop, I have yet to receive a simple ‘Thank you’. Clients are transparent to the staffs there.
