You normally wouldn't expect a bowl of vegetables and tea soup to taste very good, but to my surprise this was one of the tastiest dishes I had during my stay in Singapore. The vegetables have a delightful crunch and fruity flavor that is complemented greatly by alternating a spoon of vegetables with a spoon of the grassy-tasting tea. Great stall to visit at Lau Pa Sat!

I ordered thunder tea rice with value meal. I liked the combination of the herbs, brown rice and toppings. It is not for everyone, but if you are open for new food experiences. It is worth trying. 🫶

I used to be a regular patron at their various outlets and their thunder tea rice is always tasty. However, this trip was a lousy experience. I was there on a weekend lunchtime. I was the 3rd in queue and noticed the staff was prioritising food delivery orders over people standing in the queue. Took close to 10mins before it’s my turn to place order. The second issue was worse. I decided to order large portion. The tea they gave is all mass prepared beforehand and it’s for regular portion. It’s simply not enough if you look at the photo. Simply in disproportion when you can barely see the tea. When I approached the staff what she did was to give me extra hot water and said extra tea is chargeable at $2. It feels like you order a Large coke and they pour medium coke into your large cup and add water. Why should customers get shortchanged for ordering large portion! Culturally the most important part of thunder tea rice is actually the tea soup. Please don’t hire employees who does not understand thunder tea rice. Congratulations for giving me my worst ever leicha experience.

Having had a mysterious something that didn’t sit well with my tummy the previous week, I was after something that would help nurse my body into full health again. Tasty ✔️ . Healthy✔️ . Loads of veges ✔️ Little oil ✔️ . Value for money- 3/4 ✔️ . My #1 bowl of goodness cost $6.20. Pretty decent. Filling without weighing down. Probably just what the doctor would prescribe. Shhh- just don’t tell the doctor I had it with a little chilli sauce 😜
