My MIL having 2nd thought of wanting to go back to her husband who had cheated on her for more than 4 times. My cat , loki , meowing hard on bed as he was in heat. Came here to celebrate our dad’s birthday and it was a good choice! We chose a halal place because of my helper who is Muslim. The food was delicious, the ambience is nice and the service is excellent. I particularly liked the scallops and beef very much.

Delicious! I enjoyed everything I ordered. The truffle beef bites were definitely addictive. I also ordered the dory, with truffle brown sauce and egg fried rice. A ton of beansprouts were included, and a soup. Great food, and impeccable service!

One of my best dinners. The wagyu is very soft and all of the food portions are just right. The drinks.. fabulous. 🥰 overall ambience is amazing.

What a delicious lunch! The Straits Teppanyaki 100% Muslim Owned 16 Bussorah St We had lunch at The Straits Teppanyaki today, and we have absolutely no regrets! Every single item tasted good, service was fast and friendly and the ambience was nice and chill. We ordered: 200g striploin steak with miso soup and egg fried rice. The soup and beansprouts are included, egg fried rice was an additional $2. Wild mushroom tempura Homemade ice lemon tea The food arrived really fast. The chef cooked the meat and sprouts over on a teppanyaki stove top “live”. We could hear him but couldn’t see him directly as the seating in front of the chef was not available. The side dish, wild mushroom tempura, was flavourful. Portions were great - see photos for yourself. Last but not least, the homemade ice lemon tea was surprisingly delicious and refreshing. Overall, the lunch cost $100, but it included service charge, GST and some top ups (egg fried rice). Well worth it. Go try it if you’re looking for a great place to eat at! #notapaidpost

Food: 4.5/5 Hearty, well done meats, with a generous load of beansprouts. Lol. I think our group ate the house down. We shared desserts, a couple of starters. Service: 5/5 Erra is the whole package of hospitality personality. Your boss can let you be the icon there. You definitely enjoy your job and it shows in your expertise and ability to listen to customers... AND MAKE THEM BUY MORE FOOD! Hahaha! Thank you for the experience. Atmosphere: 3/5 Because I was choking on smoke from the grill and it aggravated my lungs. Need more powerful exhaust. Then the fans were just whipping up winds instead of cooling down the place gently. Overall, okay. You're looking at $30 mains, $16 starters, $12 drinks, and $18 desserts. And a whole lot of love from the lovely Erra. :)

Firstly, before i start, I have to compliment the service (especially Erra) for the amazing time taking care of my family's needs. Now the food was divine and super delicious, we had many foods but the one that definitely stood out the most to me was the Tomahawk steak(although i ate more brocollini but we sadly did not eat much of the fries since both are fried items the carbs clashes(mum gave feedback of doing mash potatos instead). Surprisingly enough I drank 3 bowls of miso soup as it was sooo good. And colour me surprise where we had a mini photoshoot as it was mothers day and had a free desert (meringue and whipped cream with berries) I didn't eat it since I'm not a big sweet tooth but my mum and grandma most certainly did. Had an amazing time and will hope to come again ^-^

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Straits Teppenyaki located on Bussorah Street, and I must say, their service staff exceeded all expectations. What truly impressed me was their exceptional care and attention towards my baby, ensuring that our dining experience was not only enjoyable but also stress-free! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. They provided us with a comfortable and spacious seating arrangement that accommodated our baby's stroller, allowing us to dine without any inconvenience. Throughout the meal, the staff (Kak Erra and Kak Armelia) continuously checked on us, making sure that everything was to our satisfaction. What truly stood out was their willingness to go above and beyond. They offered to hold and entertain our little one, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any interruptions. This extra effort made us feel like valued guests, and it was heartwarming to witness the staff's dedication to creating a welcoming environment for families. The overall dining experience at The Straits Teppenyaki was superb. The food was delectable and bursting with flavors! In conclusion, I highly recommend The Straits Teppenyaki on Bussorah Street for their outstanding service staff. Their attentiveness and care truly made a difference in our dining experience. If you're looking for a place that not only serves delicious food but also goes the extra mile to ensure your family's comfort, The Straits Teppenyaki is the perfect choice. Kudos to the team! From Amelia’s mom 😉♥️

First time visiting this place, wasn't expecting much, but it was a wonderful experience. The staff were so cheerful and friendly... Positively infectious! Food was good, and portions were generous. We had the striploin and the lamb, loved it. They have interesting sambal kicap and green belado sauce (which we picked of cos.. spicy..)... Only feedback is maybe, put the sauce on the side, so I can decide how much of my meat I want slathered in sauce ;)

Lovely experience for our secondary school friends reunion. Solid steak: had the wagyu, delicious, tender and authentic taste. After our meal we sat out at the open air rooftop cafe for some coffee and finger food. Definitely a vibe.

Able to walk in around 8+, went on a Fri night with no reservation. Couldn't decide what to eat, comes along the most awesome service that we received from Kak Erra (Ms). She recommended we try the prawn quesadilla as an appetizer and it did not disappoint. It was the right amount of spice, delicious lemak-ness, we wish it had more of the quesadilla on the side as the gravy was a lot. But all in all, it was soo savoury till the bowl was cleaned off. Then comes along the mocktail drink (love potion, melonberry and mojito) refreshing but a little sweet still delightful. As for the main in a group of 3, we were recommended by Kak Erra, the tomahawk. A nice thoughtful gesture by Kak Erra as she checks whats the weight recommended for us, it was the right amount at $1.4kg. Just right, no food waste and tummies were filled. Vegetables and fries were well seasoned and the sauces for dipping were all so nice! Special shoutout the green sambal, black pepper and cream sauce. Our top 3! To end the perfect night, we even got a complimentary chocolate cake with a side of vanilla ice cream! It was a sweet ending to our perfect dinner. Would definitely recommend the place and will be back again for sure! Kudos to Kak Erra's team as well, i believe her name was Sarah and the guy which i did not manage to get his name.

My partner and I visited here a month ago and we keep forgetting to leave a review but here’s our take on this restaurant. Our wonderful server, Kak Erra, took care of us during the entire evening. She was extremely accommodating when we were late for our dinner reservation and assured us that we’d have our table despite the semi-full house. Kak Erra was consistently checking in on us to ensure our food was good and cooked well. She was delightful and bubbly and both my partner and I felt very comfortable with her service. It is evident that she enjoys her job and her hospitality is exceptional. Moreover, as it was my birthday that day, she and the rest of the crew surprised me with a delectable slice of cake. Kak Erra also offered me genuine well wishes on my endeavours, she truly has the biggest heart. My partner and I really appreciate Kak Erra’s service, it was one that we’ll both remember for a while. Thank you for making my birthday a memorable one, Kak Erra (:

Awesome food, creative menu, great service and very nice atmosphere. Totally recommend to visit this place! Meat is halal, cocktails are non-alcoholic, typical for the area. Tastes absolutely perfect.

We had the beef striploin and the salmon, both were really good and with generous portions, came with a side of egg too! The service staff were so sweet, thanks for the complimentary cake for my friend's birthday!

Interesting concept... providing Teppanyaki staples as well as asian sauces and fusion dishes in a cosy restaurant. Service is very good here. Food was average but still a decent meal.

TOP TOP FOOD AND SERVICE What a wonderful unassuming restaurant, from the delicious food to the friendly service. The service is top notch (esp to the wonderful staff who took our orders to the one who served our food) - and it’s true to say one of the best in this Little Red Dot. Here you’ll find top food, bettered only by the lovely people who work here. The solitary (& hard to think up) fault I could find with my visit to The Straits Teppanyaki lay with me, in that I couldn’t fit in any more of my meal ☺️ The atmosphere here is relaxed and the staff are highly attentive. The fantastic food and drinks make me think that it’s probably common place here to think that you’ve over-ordered as we also did after browsing their extensive and truly mouthwatering menu. But I wished I’d ordered even more. It’d be safe to say I’d return and with an even larger appetite than the first time.

Awesomely delicious food! Great hospitality and nice ambience! Was there for Birthday celebration, we also got a complimentary cake! Wanted to try the Wagyu steak but unfortunately not available today. Sis Erra was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with the suggestions of food. Oh yes, the Gnocchi is a must try!!! So yummy😋! Definitely would love to come back and try the Wagyu!

Went down during lunch hour and there was no one. But the Steaks were extremely good. Although slightly on the pricier side but it is worth every penny. All four of us gobbled down our food. Will definitely visit here again!

No frills dinning within a nice area with lots of Turkish restaurants, it's a good area to feel the different vibe. Had the striplion steak it's tender enough, the prawns were fresh and meaty very nice. Order the spaghetti which is flavoured by the meat oil.

Sorry to say but this was a relatively average meal, nothing outstanding and the dory fish a little on the smelly not fresh side so had to leave most. However My salmon was great as was the scallops so don’t know what went wrong with the dory. The other issue was the sauces. They just don’t quite compliment the dishes. Why would you make the teriyaki sauce really spicy to the point that it takes away from the glory of the fish. Would be better to offer a non spicy version or one that better compliments the fish dishes. Our favourite dish was the chocolate brownie , which may say something about the mains im afraid.I’m sure the meat is great but many options were not on the menu or not available on the HSBC offer. We noticed on leaving the restaurant wasn’t so busy compared to other establishments so not sure why we’re were asked for a 50$ deposit. Would also have been nice to have more of an explanation about dishes, tho service generally was decent

A very nice Halal restaurant with good food. This is around Arab street where there are plenty of restaurants for local and Turkish, Lebanese, Middle Eastern food. While the restaurant is not big, the service is quite good. Unfortunately, the chicken skin and Wagyu beef were sold out on the day.
