Loved the ambience and the playlist. They really added to the overall dining experience. The food was good and we enjoyed our meal. The medium-well steak was a little more well done than expected, but it was still enjoyable. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and will definitely be back again.

My wife and I are always on the hunt for late-night halal food spots, and The Shakehouse happened to be one of our recent supper adventures. Finding halal food options that are still open late at night can sometimes be a challenge, so it’s always nice to come across a place where Muslim families, couples, and groups of friends can enjoy a meal without worrying about food options. For this visit, we ordered the spicy ramen and decided to upsize both of the bowls for an additional $5+🤪. At first glance, the portion looked absolutely massive. The serving bowl was huge, and it definitely gave the impression that you’re getting a lot of food for your money. If you’re someone with a big appetite or you’re sharing a late-night meal after a long day, the portion size is certainly one of the stronger points. That said, after trying it, the ramen itself tasted very familiar. It reminded me a lot of standard Shin Ramyun and Samyang noodles that many of us already have at home. While the presentation and creamy spicy sauce added some appeal, the noodles themselves didn’t feel particularly unique or exclusive to the restaurant. If you’re expecting a completely original ramen experience, you may find it a little underwhelming. However, if you’re simply craving a comforting bowl of spicy noodles in a halal setting late at night, it definitely does the job. The flavour was enjoyable overall. The sauce was rich, creamy, and had enough spice to satisfy those who enjoy a bit of heat without being overwhelmingly spicy. The toppings were decent, and the overall dish was filling. It felt like comfort food more than gourmet dining, which honestly isn’t a bad thing when it’s close to midnight and you’re just looking for a satisfying meal. One thing that may divide opinions is the pricing. Our bill came up to more than $50 per person, which puts it on the higher side for what is essentially elevated instant noodle-based dishes and beverages. Whether that’s worth it depends entirely on what you’re looking for. If you’re paying purely for the food itself, some may feel it’s expensive. If you’re paying for the convenience of having halal food available late at night, a comfortable place to sit, and a spot to spend quality time with family or friends, then the value proposition becomes a bit more understandable. The atmosphere was comfortable for a casual supper date, and we enjoyed spending time there. Not every meal needs to be a Michelin-star experience. Sometimes, having a reliable halal supper spot available when most places are already closed is valuable in itself. Overall, I’d give The Shakehouse 4/5 stars. Good late-night halal option, generous portions, satisfying comfort food, and a convenient place for supper. Whether it’s worth the price is something each diner will have to decide for themselves, but for those who enjoy midnight food hunting like my wife and I, it’s definitely a place worth trying at least once. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

This place has a nice chill out vibe. There's an outdoor seating area and 2nd level indoor seating area. Got the outdoor seating one where you can people watch while enjoying the food on a cool Friday date night. The food has always been great second time here because had enjoyed the food we had last time in their old outlet. Had to come back for their creamy calamari. Perfect amount of creaminess and the calamari had a nice chew to it. Although it's very creamy, it not too overpowering as it has bits of garlic that cuts the jelakness. The steak is juicy and flavourful. Easy to chew and has a tinge of black pepper marinade on it which I love. Rock salt was also served on side. The burger however is very basic, the top bun although it's grilled felt quite hard and dry. The bottom bun bit soggy as the sauce seep through. Not much to say about the patty but I like it that it's not the processed Ramlee type. The sauce on the burger is nice. Overall had a great experience eating here and will definitely come back to try other menu

My husband and I went for lunch and ordered the Beef Daging Rendang and Beef Carbonara. The Carbonara was delicious, and our server was top-notch. However, we were disappointed to find that the Beef Daging Rendang was actually made with Mutton meat, which we don't eat due to the strong smell. To make matters worse, the rendang was also quite Fatty. We think the menu description is misleading, so we hope you'll revise it. Unfortunately, we ended up not eating the rendang 🥲 $28 somemore 💸 Beef - from a Cow 🐄 not a 🐐 ❌ Daging - a Malay word means Meat Rendang - a Malay dish sauce

We came here for dinner with friends and had such a great time sharing good food and laughs! We ordered the smoked duck aglio olio which was absolutely delicious — perfectly al dente spaghetti tossed in fragrant garlic and olive oil, with a nice kick of chilli, and the tender, rich smoked duck slices made every bite so satisfying. We also got the mixed grill platter, a massive spread loaded with juicy beef steak, tender ribs coated in savoury sauce, creamy-sauced chicken, and plump, flavourful sausages, plus sweet grilled corn and fresh salad on the side — it was hearty, tasty and perfect for sharing. Service was friendly and laid-back, staff were helpful and our food came hot and fresh even though it was busy. Set along the charming heritage street, the vibe is casual and relaxed, just right for catching up over a hearty meal. Portions are generous and value is great — everyone left full and happy, and we’ll definitely be back with friends again!
