Writing Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop @ Jalan Kayu My first visit to this well-known establishment, and what an adventure! 😂 We walked in… no one welcomed us, so we found an empty table and pretended to study the menu like seasoned food critics. 🤓 Then we discovered the system: circle your choices on the slip provided at the table. Ahhh… tuckshop style! Okay, okay, we got it. 😄 After circling everything, I confidently approached the counter. The lady staff was busy and simply told me to leave the slip on the counter. “Okay, got it.” So I went to the restroom and came back. And guess what? My order was still sitting on the counter, enjoying its own little holiday. 😂 Apparently, it still had to be keyed into the system before the kitchen could start cooking. By then, my hunger had already entered the impatient customer phase. 😅 Then came the food. The dishes shown in the menu and what landed on our table looked like they had attended completely different photo shoots. 😂 Presentation was quite a distance from the menu pictures. I jokingly wondered whether the kitchen had been given a copy of the menu! But I was hungry, so there was no time for a parliamentary inquiry. We ate. 😂 To be fair, the Affogato was the highlight — and the overall pricing was definitely value for money. So, first visit to Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop: Ordering system — needs a little patience. Food presentation — don't trust the menu photos too much. Affogato — 👍 Value for money — 👍👍 My hunger — definitely NOT impressed! 😂 Would I come back? Maybe… but next time I'll bring a little less hunger and a lot more patience! 😄

We had one fried spring chicken and one onion blossom. Food portion is reasonable. Feels like the mayo is homemade. Salad with the chicken tastes fresh. The restaurant was crowded on sunday lunch time. The restaurant is cosy and comfortable. Self service corner where u take yr own cultery etc. And if u need to pack yr food, there are containers and plastic bags for u to self serve too. Dont expect much service from staff.

Tried the new Gino’s East menu and the deep dish pizza was actually not bad (but I think it’s frozen).

From Nasi Lemak to KFC style fried chicken to BBQ grill chicken to western pasta.. this place has it all covered and with great taste too! Onion loaf is great with generous sauce. Can hardly find this. the other place I tried once was Outback and this tasted as great.
