Needed a plastic bag since my plastic bag with a drink broke and it was spilling like a fountain. Was carrying 10kg of items also so wanted the purchase to be quick. Decided to buy a pastry so it’s not so little. Paid $0.05 for the bag, this old Chinese lady still keep interrogating why I need a big plastic bag. Cmon.. it’s 5 cents either way and my drink is going to spill in the shop if she keeps asking questions instead of just giving the bag. I even showed her the broken bag but she still continued asking why I need a bigger bag. I didn’t wanted to stay so long in case it spilled at Swee heng and she was super slow and rude . No empathy at all about the drink. At least just quickly give me the bag if u understood the situation. Why act like I got the bag for free when i paid?

I've been a loyal fan of Swee Heng's Hainanese white bread for decades, but this outlet's pricing is completely out of control. They keep raising prices without notice, and it's downright misleading. The posters behind the cashier clearly state that Hainanese bread with two spreads costs $3.90—just as it has for years at every outlet across the island. Yet, in February 2025, the rude cashier suddenly told me the price had increased to $4.30. When I pointed out that the pricelist behind her still showed $3.90, she didn't even bother to update it. Then, in March 2025, I came back, and the price had jumped again to $4.90—while the sign still said $3.90! This is beyond unacceptable. I understand price adjustments, but misleading customers and treating them like fools? That’s just bad business. Either the cashier is clueless, or management is running a scam. I refuse to support a place that operates this way.
