Reviews are raving this being the best in SG and as good as Turkiye. I was practically skipping there to get the Bird nest and Baklavas and is disappointed that the taste didnt match. I know a good Turkish delight should not be just flat sweet, it should taste natural like honey and fruit sweetness. PS* I am making reference to the standard of Hazzel Baba in Turkiye and I even had taste of pastries in Egypt. - Promogranate turkish delight is just dead sweetness, no subtle tard from the fruit. Trust me I know my Turkish delight - Bird nest, pistachio is not crunchy. Maybe I need to air fryer it before eating. - Baklava is ok only after air frying, to bring back the crunch. You have to flip it and air fryer it again, else only the top is crispy and the bottom soggy in a bad way. Very very sweet version but I do not remember having that level of sweetness when in Turkiye Overall I thought the lacking is freshness of the pastry since there it is imported. I be continuing the Baklava seeking journey, this time I be looking for locally fresh made ones. I am not saying they are horrible (again I know my Baklavas and I threw away a box that my mum got from the Turkiye airport for tasting like cardboard)

Had the walnut baklava and was a perfect desert while walking around. Abdullah hooked me up real good as well! 10/10 would recommend for the authentic vibes and hospitality.

So glad I found Shalaby Sweets in Haji Lane! Got the gift box with assorted baklava & kunafa which came with complimentary Turkish delights. my favourite is their pistachio baklava, just the right amount of sweetness and roasted nuttiness. was delightful, definitely must share with pple :)
