Won’t be coming back a second time. Poor service attitude and not good value for money. Compared to Pepper Lunch in Japan, really one heaven one earth. My girlfriend and I came here at around 8pm on a Sunday. After ordering from the self-service kiosk, we went to find a seat. A short, middle-aged female staff member assigned us a table for two. My girlfriend noticed that the chair had a curved back, so her bag couldn’t hang properly. Nearby, there were three tables pushed together with six seats, but only one person was sitting at the innermost seat against the wall. So we thought we could just take the two outermost seats and leave the middle seat for her bag. Before we even sat down, the same staff member came over and scolded my girlfriend in a very unfriendly manner. Seriously, was that necessary? My girlfriend was so upset by the way she spoke to her that she started crying, and of course I was very unhappy too. We went back to our original table. The staff then brought over another chair for her bag and gave a rather half-hearted explanation that the six-seat area was supposedly reserved for groups of six only. But hello, how were we supposed to know this rule leh? There were two empty tables there and no sign or anything explaining that only six people could use them. If there is such a rule, just explain nicely lah. No need to talk to customers like they did something terribly wrong. The contrast with our experience at Pepper Lunch in Akihabara was really huge. The staff there patiently explained the different portion sizes and exactly how much rice and meat came with each option. Here? Easily one of the worst service attitudes I’ve encountered even by Singapore standards. As for the food, it was just okay. The meat wasn’t as tasty as what we had in Japan, the fatty flavour was quite mediocre, but somehow the price is almost double. Quite hard to justify sia. Better save the money and eat Pepper Lunch next time in Japan.

This is my third visit to this branch, and I’m really pleased with the improvements! I’m an udon lover, so I ordered the beef udon with okra - and I was very, very delighted with the taste! The miso was perfect too. 😋 I can confidently say that the serving size was generous and very satisfying. I’m also really happy to see that they now have more vegetable choices. It makes the dining experience even better for me. Furthermore, the servers are kind, attentive, and always ready to help. Definitely a satisfying visit! ❤️ MORE powers! 👍❤️🙏 Update: Went back here again and tried the cheesy sizzling rice, fried tori chicken katsu, and ebi prawn set, and they were the best! I really enjoyed everything. I was so full! Burped! 🤭❤️ The service was, once again, exemplary. Special thanks to the server whom I asked for a lid for my drink because I was already so full and couldn’t finish it. She was so kind and thoughtful that she even replaced my wet cup with a new one. Such a small gesture, but it really meant a lot. Thank you for the extra care and thoughtfulness! ❤️

The beef cubes were cut way too thick for a hotplate. Some pieces seemed undercooked in the center and were quite tough to chew. The hamburger steak was also very soft and mushy, which wasn’t enjoyable. Overall, the food didn’t meet my expectations.
