At around 1:00–1:30 PM, I visited Makisan Hougang to place an order. While one of the staff members was preparing my order, I noticed the staff member taking food ingredients directly from a bowl and placing them into the sushi. I am concerned about the hygiene practices I witnessed, as proper food handling is essential to ensure food safety. Maintaining good hygiene standards is important to prevent food contamination, food poisoning, and other foodborne illnesses. I hope the management will look into this matter seriously, reinforce proper food handling procedures, and ensure that all staff follow the appropriate hygiene standards to protect customers’ health.

Dear Maki-San Management, I am writing to provide feedback regarding a disappointing customer service experience at your Hougang One outlet on 5 June 2026. This was my first time trying Maki-San, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below my expectations. I placed a GrabFood self-pickup order at approximately 12:45 PM and waited at the designated collection area in front of the store. There was a clearly displayed sign indicating "Collection Here," so I stood there and waited for my order to be ready. However, when my order was completed, the staff did not place it at the collection point. Despite seeing me waiting there for quite some time, none of the staff approached me or asked which order I was waiting for. I eventually had to approach the counter myself to enquire about my order. What was particularly disappointing was that the male staff appeared unhappy when I asked about my order. I then discovered that my order had been placed underneath the stove/preparation area instead of at the designated collection point. As a customer, I found this confusing and unprofessional, especially when there was a clearly marked collection area available. As a first-time customer, this experience left a poor impression of your brand. I have ordered from many other salad and healthy food establishments and have not encountered a similar situation. I am unsure whether this is an isolated incident at this outlet or if it reflects the service standards practiced across your outlets. I hope management can look into this matter and provide feedback on how such situations will be addressed to ensure a better customer experience in the future. Thank you.

The staff handled the food well. He seemed to be very well trained. Definitely followed the SOP as I saw how he carefully measured everything. Well done Akmar!
