For someone who grew up drinking chendol from the old Geylang Serai, I expected this one to taste amazingly well assuming they used an authentic Gula Melaka as their shop name implies. But, I don't know if this was a one-off incident on a busy Saturday afternoon on 15 Jul, that the chendol was unexpectedly bitter-tasting! Can't be their coconut milk or chendol which tastes bitter so I guess it probably is the gula melaka. There was an awfully long queue to boot which hyped up the $2.50 chendol. Never ever buying this again.

Ordered the Traditional ($2.50) which does not contain red beans. Flavour is good with right level of richness & sweetness. Texture of the cendol you can tell is handmade with a mild coconut flavour in the background. Colour is good, not the scary bright almost translucent colour you see in most food courts but I still prefer the thai style which is plump and dark green in colour. Definitely will go back again.

1st time here. Saw long Q, so naturally tot it was good. The aunty was friendly but busy as well. Ordered afew traditional chendols to go. It did not taste like chendol. More to ice coffee taste. Hmm...Well, prices are decent.

Get the chendol in the cup, and savour it immediately. There's no option to dine-in. We bought the red bean chendol (bowl), and it fell victim to Singapore's sweltering 36C weather. Thankfully, my liquid chendol was still very fragrant, and yummy. Their gula melaka has a complex sweetness, and perhaps some salt for a rounded, savoury mouthfeel. Coconut milk was delicious, and not overly cloying too! Queues are long, and it gets rather unpleasant waiting in the heat.

Chendol Chendol Chendol …. Sweet, but with a perfect blend of coconut, ice and gula Melaka. My team and I enjoyed the taste and we loved the service staff that served us. Happy, chippy and blissful. Would we return again for another round? Definitely, for a slice of simple treat at $2.50, it’s worth the calories.

Very disappointing purchase. Price is ok for the size of the banana fritters given. However, only 1 banana fritter was covered in half of the crispy coating. All the other bananas were without the coating, defeating the purpose of eating a banana fritter. Was given 2 small pieces of the coating, so i had to eat the banana n coating separately. 😅

Was caught in the rain nearby. And so decided to give their Chendol a try. IMO, edible. Most of their items are ok but the palm sugar (gula melaka) was not of good quality but caramelised.

I love chendol. However, this is the worst chendol that I ever had. It tastes sweet and salty..the saltiness is not acceptable level and simply just cannot take it. At the end I throw everything.

Have your Chendol on the go as its served in a cup. Mine was ultra sweet to taste. Not the best but also not the worst i had so far. Also tried their fried banana. Will not buy again. Poor choice of banana that came with seed. Troublesome to eat when u constantly chew into those seeds. Will i buy again? Erm...Maybe not.

Good concept as a takeaway shop at the corner of a busy street The elderly lady who served me was not very nice. I asked about the difference in the drink then she ignored me so I tikam chose 1 on the menu. Way toooo sweet and too little ice that my drink was completely melted by the time I stuck my straw in 1 minute after I got it.

It is affordable. Good to try in the humid day. It is a takeaway stall near Sultan Mosque. Just ask for less sugar next time.

Personal taste may not be liked very much. But the shop is close to tourist attractions.

If you want smile smile service avoid. If you want excellent Chendol this is the place. It's thick, sweet and flavourful. Great for takeaway as it is still tasty after all the ice melts.
