Food is not bad, restaurant is clean and can cater for large group. Ordered the crispy smashed fried chicken, it is flavourful. However I was a bit disappointed at the small portion, nonetheless the food taste delicious. Take note that rice you will need to order separately.

Indonesian food. Tried fried tofu, kangkong, sambal stingray, mee goreng, and fragrant chicken rice. Service is good. There is free soup. Except for Stingray, which standard dropped a bit compared to the last visit. The portion is good, and the taste is equally good. Check for food availability before you sit in.

Worst ever. We ordered our food and the staff keeps asking what we ordered. And they entered our orders wrongly. When the food came, indomie ayam geprek, it looks so bad. The chicken so little. Definitely not worth to pay indomie for this pricing. We checked, the store should be closed at 9pm, but they closed at 8pm. Staffs were quite free, but leave almost all tables unclean/uncleared.

Came on Saturday afternoon and ate the Ayam Bakar, Bebek Penyet and Ayam Penyet, as well as Kangkong Belachan for sharing. The Bebek Penyet was pretty good, much better than expected. Kangkong Belachan was also yummy, just a tad too salty. Servers look abit disengaged and nonchalant so 4 stars. NOTE: Photos were taken after starting to eat because forgot to take photos before eating 😅

1) Came ard 7:40PM , staff informed us only left few main options. 2) Waited for 30 minutes, and then staff served the wrong items rudely. And some more ask us what did we order ? 3) Finally , one of the dish served , looks so different from the pic. Omg. And staff told us most of the ingredients run out. That’s why looks like it. I have no choice to just tell them to cancel my order. 4) Closing time in google showing 9Pm, staff told outside lining customer that closed already at 8Pm.

Chicken rice set is really good, served with 3 sauces and vegetables. Generous portions of ayam and duck in their penyet sets, and goes down well with happy sodas. Affordable pricing, given its in Marina Square. Plus, they serve food really fast.

Had the ayam penyet indo mie. Ayam penyet was crispy and nice. Indo mie could have more kecap manis. Teh tarik was too sweet. Keropok had a caramalised taste, felt a sweetness to it... addictive. Service was quite slow maybe cos there were too many customers. Price seems to have increased. Not sure if it's cos of F1 weekend or general price increase.

I brought my Indonesian helper to an Indonesian restaurant to celebrate her birthday. Although the menu was diverse, the Hainanese chicken rice, which I intended to order for my kids who can’t eat spicy food, was unfortunately unavailable. On the bright side, the other dishes, such as Ayam Bakar, penyet, and sambal sotong, were quite enjoyable. While the dining experience overall was positive, the service left much to be desired. When I requested small bowls for my kids through my helper, a female waitress responded in an unfriendly manner, stating that only plates were available, showing a lack of respect. This incident cast a shadow on what should have been a joyous occasion. I kindly suggest a focus on improving the service quality to ensure that all guests feel valued and respected. It’s crucial to create a positive atmosphere for everyone and avoid dampening the mood of the diners…. And please respect foreign workers…I feel bad for my helper who was supposed to be happy on her birthday at the Indonesian restaurant

Conveniently located in Marina Square, good cafe to have a quick lunch. They serve standard Indonesian family style dishes. We had Ayam Penyet and Ayam Bakar set, with chicken rice. Generally acceptable flavours, the sambal chilli is super hot thought. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous.

Hi guys, just ate some Smashed Chicken for lunch from Makan Makan at MS and as you can see I almost finished the meal until I see a black strip and some black pieces of unidentified object. Hopefully it's not what I think it is??? It was quite expensive too... I told my colleague about it and she said the place is not very hygienic. Omg they should really refund me few times the amount I paid. Honestly ingesting cockroach or something is definitely disgusting!!

Ordered the signature ayam penyat. It is good. Chilli got kick. Chicken is tender. Service sucks. Food come without utensils. Had to get them myself. Guy saw me do it didn't bother to help. Then had to go back and get serviettes myself.

If you can look past the nice delicious looking ikan bakar and all the penyets, this Makan Makan is truly passable. by the way, THIS IS NOT INDONESIAN Cuisine restaurant but MALAYSIAN. MIND YOU, the ikan bakar, the fish IS NOT GRILLED on a hot charcoal, but either seared in a pan or deep fried (maybe just the last minute or two were put on the charcoal) with simple sweet soy sauce to give the "bakar" impression. yet, they do not make the effort to look good. the frozen kind, smelly, mushy and definitely not charcoal fragant. the tempe is so rubbish, i cannot take my second bite, and the tofu, just stinky. worst of all, the lombok, is not a fresh grinded chilli mixture, the way it is supposed to be, taken out from the lombok bottle. no wonder i taste the certain type of brand bottled lombok, which i cannot say in this review. on top of this, the waiters do not know the products well, they run out of coconut (still 1pm in the afternoon), the interior does not look well maintained, basically plain, simple and lazy design the food court grade style, not enough to justify the 19% surcharge for services. not worth it and you guys would thank me for not coming here. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Reached the restaurant slightly before 12pm today (5/6/24). Menu looked good so why not try? Big mistake. Ordered 2 plates of PLAIN RICE ($1.50) and 1 plate of CHICKEN RICE ($1.80). Waited for around 20 minutes, before the food came. We were served 3 PLATES OF CHICKEN RICE. When questioned, the staff told us "Plain rice not ready, need to wait 15 MORE minutes." We were NOT informed about this change, not once during the 20 minutes wait time. Tried enjoying the food, but could not. Speaking strictly on the food, the salted egg chicken was mediocre at best. The dish lacked balance - it was only salty and greasy. Decently cooked salted egg chicken would have would flavours outside of salt and grease. Lost my appetite halfway eating the dish. Had to share my last few pieces of chicken with my table. The ayam from the ayam penyat was so dry and hard. We were rushing to pay, and did not notice we were charged with 3 PLATES OF CHICKEN RICE until afterwards. C'mon la, the kitchen not having plain rice during lunch hour is unacceptable. The staff did not even tell us, had the audacity to serve it to us and tell us that to get plain rice = 15 more minutes. We are busy people with things to do. Had we been told upfront that there were no plain rice, and had to wait an additional 15 minutes, we would have chosen to dine at another restaurant. Even more ludicrously, we were charged for the chicken rice. Honestly, it's the principles that matter, and not that added $0.60 we were charged. Your staff had multiple opportunities to: 1) Inform us that plain rice was not ready (despite being lunch hour) and there was a 15 minute wait. 2) Inform us upfront that the chicken rice would cost extra rather than sneakily adding the cost into our receipt. PS soup was offered to our table. I also noted that other tables with more than 2 pax were also served soup. Your staff claimed that the soup was not compensation for a lack of plain rice. Are other tables also being 'compensated' for the lack of food item they've orders? Hence, 1/5 stars overall. PS, do not try be be cheeky with your response.
