Went to GyoGyo (Funan) for dinner. The food were nicely done. Unagi Don : Amount of rice is just right, puffy and soft too. The Unagi is fresh and grilled to perfection. Paired with the sauce which is not too much overpowering. Soft and nicely cooked eggs. Grilled Shioyaki Saba : Fresh saba fish grilled with salt. Soft and tender. But if you are someone who prefers your food moist, then this dish is not for you as it is a bit dry on the skin side. What else do you expect when it is without sauce right? Lol. But then again, that is the best way to eat your fish, as you could savour the freshness of the fish on your taste bud. Tuna Crab Roll (Sushi) : Don't exactly taste the crab. Most of the taste are from the tuna. But still taste wonderful though. Creamy texture. And the size is just right per piece. Plain Udon Soup : Sounds boring. But it is surprisingly, quite tasty. If you are looking for something light to eat, this is what you could go for. Udon cooked to perfection, soft and literally melts in the mouth. Served with soft egg. Grilled Tofu Steak with Ebiko Mayo (Highly recommended/personal favourite) : I have no idea how they made this tofu dish so delicious. It looks like fried tofu, with a slightly crispy skin while the inside is soft and white. Topped with their special Ebiko Mayo sauce which is mmmmmmmmmm... And finished off with sliced bonito flakes. Oh... It brings about a smokey flavour as well. A definite must try dish if you are dining here.

I was there on 4/11 around 3pm with my 5 years old son. The 2 malay ladies that serve us is very friendly and service oriented! Always a smile and even offer a phone stand for my son’s phone. Food was fantastic. Portion is huge and price is reasonable. Thank you!

A tad disappointed, but to be fair, it might be due to the fact that I was never into grilled fish. The beef hamburger pattie was relatively fine (but not fantastic), but the spaghetti and the fried bean curd were bland. I didn't feel that this eatery gives adequately the Japanese vibes other than the overly-lous Japanese songs played over their sound system.

My dining experience at Gyo Gyo in Funan was a pleasant one overall, particularly given its Halal certification, making it a welcoming option for a diverse range of diners. The restaurant showcased a commendable array of flavors and dishes, reflecting the richness of Japanese cuisine. However, one notable drawback was the apparent understaffing, which resulted in slow service and delays in receiving our orders. Despite this, the quality of the food ultimately made up for the inconvenience. Each dish was expertly prepared, with attention to detail evident in both presentation and taste. While the pacing of the meal may have been leisurely due to staffing constraints, the overall dining experience remained enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with a modern yet cozy atmosphere that added to the overall appeal. Despite the minor hiccup in service, I would still recommend Gyo Gyo to anyone in search of Halal Japanese cuisine in the Funan area, as the quality of the food undoubtedly outweighs any shortcomings in service.

Well-sized tables and comfortable chairs. Quite noisy during meal hours with music playing in background. Food is of good portions and quite tasty. Attentive service staff roving around to check on customers needs & requests.

We ordered a variety of sets, from grilled fish to beef hotpot and shishamo. All arrived quickly and tasted great! The glaze on the fish is on the sweeter side, and the shishamo is large with crispy breading. Overall everyone liked their sets, the service was attentive the ambience was nice and relaxing with large tables. 3 sets + shishamo and drinks came up to about $100+

This is in Funan, a walk away from City Hall MRT. The food is good and the service has such friendly staff. I like their grilled fish set. It is filling and yet feels healthy and delicious. I chose the one cooked with salt style, there's the kind where you have miso or teriyaki too but salt brings out the flavour of the fish. Also this place is Halal! It also reminds me of restaurants in Japan with their set dishes, it is good.

Having explored numerous dining spots, I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem that I must share with fellow food enthusiasts. GyoGyo Japanese Grilled Fish & Sukiyaki, a Japanese restaurant, offers exceptional value for money with its reasonably priced set meals that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. On multiple visits, I had the pleasure of indulging in their standout dish, the Beef Hamburg Steak Don. This delightful creation combines a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, featuring spaghetti, a succulent beef patty, and a perfectly cooked egg. The presentation alone is a feast for the eyes, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and commitment to delivering a memorable dining experience. What sets GyoGyo Japanese Grilled Fish & Sukiyaki apart is the option to customize your meal with a choice of gravies - tomato, curry, or mushroom. Each gravy complements the dish in its unique way, adding depth and richness to the already delicious ensemble. Whether you prefer the tanginess of tomato, the aromatic spice of curry, or the earthy notes of mushroom, you're bound to find a combination that suits your palate. The affordability of these set meals coupled with the generous portions and impeccable taste make [Restaurant Name] a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Japanese flavors without breaking the bank. The value for money here is truly unparalleled, making it a favorite spot for those seeking a satisfying and budget-friendly dining experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend giving GyoGyo Japanese Grilled Fish & Sukiyaki a try. Whether you're a fan of Japanese cuisine or simply looking for a delicious and wallet-friendly meal, their Beef Hamburg Steak Don and other set meals are sure to exceed your expectations. Kudos to the team for delivering such an exceptional dining experience.

Both the Halibut and garoupa fish tasted unusually sweet as if they added sugar. Portion wise, it’s not very big and probably just nice for small eaters. The only good thing is that the fish are boneless so you dont have to worry about picking bones. The staff are generally quite friendly too.
