A terrible buffet experience given the high price. The food looks great on display, but don't be fooled. The salmon was dry, the seafood lacked freshness, and the meats were totally overcooked. Only the fried items and prawns were nice. I genuinely rather eat at Seoul garden.

We have been a Carousel fan for many years, and we’ve always enjoyed every bit of its lunch and dinner buffets, until this time. We came for the Lobster Claws Lunch Buffet over the weekend, but please don’t be misled by the theme. It was hardly a lobster claws feast. Apart from the seafood on ice, there wasn’t any visible lobster claws anywhere, not even the Teppanyaki Lobster Claws mentioned on the menu. I was personally looking forward to having the Hong Kong-style Stir-fried Noodles with Seafood, but it was replaced with mushy Shanghai-style stir-fried tteokbokki instead. Imagine the disappointment! About an hour after the buffet started, many dishes were not being replenished quickly enough, most noticeably the fresh seafood on ice and the pizzas. At one glance, the buffet spread looked rather sad. We had to repeatedly go back to check because we were seated at the far end of the dining area. Some of the flavoured drink machines were also not working and were dispensing only water. Ice should also be provided for the desserts and drinks. There was no menu at the pasta station either, so no one knew what was available. Overall, it was still a satisfying lunch despite the disappointments. The service staff and chefs were all great, and I have no complaints about the service. I just wish the food could be as good as what I remember from previous visits.

Carousel is one of the more well-known halal buffet restaurants in Singapore, mainly because of its prime location and the wide variety of food available. I visited Carousel last month when they were running a Korean-themed special, where many of the dishes were given a Korean-inspired twist. There were some pretty interesting combinations, such as kimchi kueh pie tee, kimchi laksa, Korean-style chicken rice, and kimchi nasi goreng. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of the fusion concept. Some of the combinations felt a little strange to me, and even my Korean colleague found some of the dishes quite unusual! It’s definitely an interesting concept, but I think the execution may not appeal to everyone, especially if you’re expecting more traditional Korean flavours. That said, the usual seafood selection was still quite good, with a decent variety of seafood and sashimi available. The dessert section was also enjoyable, especially the wide selection of ice cream, which gives you plenty of choices to end the meal.

The staff are friendly and gives the cheerful vibes. The lunch buffet is not cheap without credit card promo but still consider mid-range price buffet and offer one of the best halal buffet around for years. There are quite a lot of variety of main dishes of different cuisine and most of them taste good. Love that a lot of dishes have prawns but some are quite small and hard to deshell. The crab is quite difficult to deshell and have a bit of "seafood smell". The cracker is very crunchy and although it's "cheap food", it's our most popular food. The dessert choice are decent, wish they offer more choices. Need to queue for ice cream as some customer have difficulties scoping the ice cream. Wish they have someone who can help to serve the customer and speed up the queue, and the nicer flavour ice cream runs out by 2. Tea choice is ok and like that the stirrer is individually packed, more hygiene but think cos not labelled so some people cannot find the stirrer. Wished they offer honey for tea. Overall still worth to have buffet here for food lover.

I won’t be talking about the food quality and spread, because it’s already a well-known fact that the food is absolutely chef’s kiss. I’m writing this review because I’m truly blown away by the exceptional service from all the staff, especially Sashi. Thank you for going the extra mile and making it possible for my daughter to enjoy her steamed crab for her birthday. it really meant a lot to us. Been here a couple of times but this time round, the desserts were 💯💯💯 Please keep up the amazing work, everyone! 🥳
