I always enjoy Indian food. Besides being delicious and flavourful with all the aromatic Indian spices, there are usually meatless options available too. The food here tastes good and prices are reasonable. I had the Masala Dosai and a cup of Teh Halia for only $4.30 ~ an affordable and satisfying meal for under $5.

Finding a gem like Al-Sara's Prata House Restaurant is what makes exploring Singapore’s food scene so rewarding. This spot at Blk 253 Jurong East St 24 is everything you want in a neighbourhood eatery—unpretentious, welcoming, and consistently delicious. The prata here is a masterclass in texture: crispy and golden on the outside, yet soft and airy once you pull it apart. The accompanying curries are rich and flavorful, providing just the right amount of heat to complement the buttery dough. Pairing it with a frothy glass of teh tarik—smooth, perfectly pulled, and just the right sweetness—is an absolute must. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is classic Singapore heartland. You can choose between the breezy outdoor seating, perfect for a casual morning, or the bright, clean interior where the walls are lined with tempting photos of their extensive menu (the Mutton Keema and Tandoori platters look like they're worth a return trip alone). The service is efficient and friendly, making it a great place for a quick solo meal or a relaxed hangout with friends. Whether you’re a local or just passing through the Jurong area, this place is a five-star staple for comfort food. Top Tips: • The Prata: Don't skip the plain or egg prata to really appreciate the dough's quality. • Teh Tarik: It’s the perfect companion to the spicy curries. • Location: Conveniently located right by the pedestrian walkway and local shops, making it a great pit stop. Have you tried any of their specialised briyani or tandoori dishes yet?

Went down today for some rice meals and tandoori chicken. The rice and vegtables papadum were soggy and unappetising. The chicken was hard and the salad that came with it looked unappetising. And when I was eating, I saw three rats running around the restraunt and staff attempting to scare them away in front of customers. The plates appeared wet and oily when served. This raises concerns for me about hygiene standards. This was my second visit, and I also felt uncomfortable being asked to leave a positive review while dining. In my opinion, reviews should reflect genuine customer experiences and should not be solicited from customers or staff to create fake reviews.
