After returning to hotel across street LATE last night from night safari at the Singapore zoo, exhausted after an hour bus ride, we just needed something that was Open,that’s it, nothing more, and this place went beyond that and actually Impressed! with wife and baby daughter so decided would go take away and bring it back. Of the three options in a row, this drew attention the most. Items appeared to be Indian/indonesian fusion, and the place was packed. Indoor and outdoor patio seating full, and vibrant, everyone around was having lively discussions, made me wish we were all there so we could enjoy the experience in addition to the food. the staff was busy but took the time to help with recommendations. Everything looked delicious. Decided to go with one of our favorites, Biryani with a crispy slice of fish, and when I asked about adding a vegetable, he said we can choose any and ad to it. The spinach looked good so went with that. The packaging for take away all wrapped in thick waxed paper, and he placed some papadams and a dipping sauce that doubled as a soup in a bag, I thought for sure everything was going to spill out, there was no way it would stay on the paper, but it was packed so skillfully without any firm containers, when we got back, opened it up and finished it all, not, not a single drop spilled, not a crumb of mess. Was also ready to pay extra for the vegetable, but the total came out to exactly what was written in the menu for fish Biryani. Both of us were full for well under 10 SGD total, and the DO accept card now. definitely a must experience.

I recently had a meal at Al Jilani Restaurant, and it turned out to be a very satisfying and value-for-money experience right in the heart of the Bugis area. We ordered a few classic dishes—prata, chicken curry, and mutton curry—and overall, it was a solid meal. The prata was nicely done: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfect for dipping. Both the chicken and mutton curry were flavorful and comforting, with a good balance of spices. While I wouldn’t say the curry is the absolute best I’ve ever had in Singapore, it definitely hits the spot and delivers good quality for the price you’re paying. What really stands out about Al Jilani is its convenience and affordability. Located along Bencoolen Street, it’s an easy stop if you’re around Bugis and looking for a quick, hearty bite without spending too much. The casual, no-frills setting adds to its charm—it’s the kind of place you can drop by anytime, whether for a simple meal or even supper. For anyone exploring the Bugis area and craving something warm and satisfying, this is a great option. It may not be the most premium Indian-Muslim restaurant out there, but for its price point and location, it offers excellent value. I would definitely recommend it to anyone nearby and would come back again for another easy and enjoyable meal.

Came here on a couple of occasions. The prata are pretty good. The staff are all quite friendly too. Price is reasonable. A place to watch the world pass by, on weekday early evenings, with the restaurant facing the walkway and street.

Halal restaurant in Singapore Great value for money with generous portions. Staffs are super friendly & helpful. Will definitely be back next time I’m in SG :)

Firstime im coming here, but eating prata cheese egg super delicios and kueytiaw goreng is ok just feel so so la, total 2 drink with 2 food around $13, enviroment is ok beside mainroad but if u coming 2am above u can see people going back from clubing seating here, its ok normal, but here not acept online or card, just CASH knly, aiyo very spoiled la, why not accept card ya, susah woo 🤨
