Spotting an adorable chicken cartoon icon across the wall of a humble eatery located at Sunshine Plaza, Mrs Hen is a Halal-certified Indonesian Ayam Geprek specialist which is known for their fiery-hot ayam geprek with different variations of inhouse made sambal chilli, including Salted Egg sauce if you can't take spicy food. 🐥Ayam Geprek Sambal Platter with 3 kinds of chilli - Signature red chilli, green chilli and balinese lemongrass chilli + Bergedil. 🐥Ayam Geprek Sambal Matah + Fried Egg Undeniably one of the best Ayam Geprek we enjoyed so far. The batter was not overly thick and super crispy on the outside while the meat was tender and juicy. Not oily and we enjoyed the fried chicken prepared only upon order and served piping hot during our visit. Balinese lemongrass chilli was our favourite for its unique flavours, though all sambal were packed with punch and impressive. Special mention to the flowy egg yolk in the way I liked. Satisfaction guaranteed! Highly recommended to go for their sambal platter so that you can try 3 different sambal at one go!

Sambal for the hard core fans! Came to Mrs Hen at the recommendation of my friend during lunch. You won’t regret it if you are a spice fan. The menu is simple n fuss free. Choose your protein, your carb, and the spice. You can add on egg or bergedil if you desire. I took the sambal platter which is a trio of chili. The sambal signature is the spiciest, amongst the trio of chilli, so I am rather glad I got the trio to balance it out. I took the plain rice as I felt it will neutralize the spiciness. I must say the chicken was really v nice and crispy! My friend took a level 2 signature sambal which looked really hot! Do not attempt the dishes if you are wearing thick clothing!! N make sure you have access to a clean toilet for your after affairs. Haha. Good spice but not for the faint hearted!

Very crispy chicken, generous portion, overall solid meal and good value for money. Tried the sambal signature which was quite spicy even at the lowest level (menu put level 10 as lowest, not sure if there is lower), and the sambal matah which was not spicy but tangy and delicious nonetheless.

Tried for the first time yesterday and got the ayam geprek with signature chilli (level 10) and added fried egg. Taste wise for the chicken is pretty good. It was a large portion and was deep fried properly. The sambal was good and spicy. Small store with limited seating area.

The signature chilli is way too hot for me, even though I only asked for the lowest a level of spiciness. It’s still SUPER hot and I’ve to move the chilli away from the chicken, which otherwise, was very nice. For me, I’ll try the non chilli chicken next time

This place is really good... crispy juicy chicken, flaky fish, flavourful nasi kuning and mee goreng, and spicy sambal - in fact the standard spice level may be a bit too spicy for some, because I had to scrape mine off haha. I had a taste of the signature red, green, lemongrass and mango sambal, and all of them were tasty, with the latter two being less spicy. Can also order the passionfruit juice to help with the spice (avocado and durian drinks not available). Food is not cheap tho, and the place is small and can get crowded until maybe 2pm. But I will definitely come back for more!

It's a very unassuming indonesian shop with tender chicken and interesting flavours. The flavours are not of the usual authentic Indonesian Ayam Geprek style, however it matches very well with the chicken. I especially liked how the chilli was very well done and delicious with the chicken. Furthermore, portion was very generous for this price. Having tried the Mango Chilli Penyet, I would highly recommend it as it was like Achar infused with chill. They also allow you to personalise your meal by choosing indo-mee or BYO with other combinations of sauces. Would definitely be back again to satisfy my chicken cravings and try other flavours!

Had a bit of craving for spicy and fried chicken, so this place was just right. It's a pleasent surprise this shop. Highly affordable, the chicken is fried perfectly, and the chili is amazing. I had the green chili one and it was just divine. It matches the chicken, rice and everything else I added in. It was an amazing plate of food. High value. Will come back here again for sure

Chanced upon this diner and tried it out of curiosity, but was blown away by the fun menu that’s full of customisable options. I though it is on a higher price range, I really like that you can choose from a range of proteins and sambals, and even indomee! I tried the salted egg rice because my throat wasnt feeling too well but when I bit into the chicken, I was so charmed by the flavours that I went back to order sambal bawang to go with it. The chicken is crispy yet light, well seasoned and flavourful. Despite being coated in the batter, it is not thick but very delicious and tender. While the salted egg sauce was good, I can imagine it would have gotten too milky after a while. Getting the sambal bawang was a great choice as it was tangy with a good crunch of the onion. The sambal was also not overly spicy that it numbs you but provides a good kick while will allowing you to enjoy the flavours. Too hungry to take photos of the food! Do go with patience during peak hours as the Sunshine Plaza outlet seems to be understaffed. That said, the only person working front and back of house maintained a spritely and polite attitude despite being so busy. Will definitely be back with friends to try the great variety! Edit: I CAME BACK AGAIN! Like twice more in the same month. The verdict: Sambal Bawang is the best sambal! I got the triple sambal with eggplant and indomee and it nearly killed my Chinese stomach. The eggplant is delicious and this is coming from somebody who doesn’t eat eggplant. But the sambal is full of seeds and the Indomee itself also has some heat. Altogether it’s really not for the faint-hearted. Then came back again to have the Sambal Bawang with chicken and rice. Get the white rice, or the yellow rice to offset some of the heat. The yellow rice is so tasty! Safe to say I have found the go-to combo: Ayam Geprek with Sambal Bawang and Nasi Kuning! My only complaint is that for the price of the dish, it should come with a small bowl of soup. And sit outside, because the inside smells of fried chicken and you will confirm walk out smelling like you should have some sambal on your head.

My Indonesian friend brought me here because he claims it’s one of the places with the best/most authentic Indonesian food in Singapore. He also warned me that the level 20 signature chilli was really spicy which was saying something because he’s someone who can take his chilli so I got the fried brinjal with white rice and level 10 signature chilli. The brinjal paired with the chilli was delicious and there are no complains there. The entire plate was so flavourful. It was so good that we wanted to go back for dinner but most things were sold out by the time we went at 6pm. Portions are a little small in my opinion but overall, it was a great meal. Will be going back soon for the level 20 chilli.

I saw that Mrs. Hen is one of the halal eateries at Sunshine Plaza yesterday, so I gave it a try. And wow, theirs might be the best Nasi Ayam Geprek I've tasted! 😄 Loveee the crispy coating, and how juicy and well-cooked their chicken was. Glad I chose the 3-chilli sambal platter as the topping too!

One of my personal favourite halal crispy ayam geprek! If you are a fan of spicy- choose Sambal Signature Ayam Geprek Level 10, paired with their refreshing acar and teh sosro to calm your taste buds. Be warned that you may cry😂 You may also choose to seperate the chilli if you’d like to be on the safe side. Otherwise choose Salted Egg sauce and add on tahu goreng, such a tasty combo and kid-friendly too. Upside: Service is fast. Fantastic food. Downside: Space is limited. Many items such as sides and alpukat jus were unavailable during peak hours.

ayam geprek was good. freshly fried, crispy, juicy and tender. portion given was filling and sauces complimented well too. however, rice was wet and mushy, service took the orders unwillingly as well. despite the good quality ayam geprek, overall experience doesnt match the amount paid.
