Tasty Korean food in “The Basement”. It’s centrally located in CBD area beside Lau Pa Sat near Hong Leong building. It’s air conditioned food court but be prepared to wait for food preparation around 30 mins after ordering. Love the Saba fish and spicy beef ramen noodles. Muslim friendly as it’s halal (please check). Highly recommended for Korean food lovers.

Have to come early as the lunch crowd will slowly creep in. Definitely more meat and nicer compared to the outlet in the west. Edit: the wait is too long and the queue number jumps randomly. I waited at least 30mins. Not sure they cook the same dish one go but it doesn’t make sense for my queue number 122 to be after 150+ for a hot plate chicken. The system seemed faulty or they keyed the wrong number. I said 122 flashed twice and went to collect, I was only told you have to wait a while. Without telling me what went wrong or will the number be flashed again. It was after 150 when I approached them the second time and was again told to wait again.

The Korean foods here are delicious and affordable. It is aircon here and need to wait for about half and hour during lunch time. The Kimchi soup, ramen and bimbibap here are nice too. Highly recommended and will revisit to try other foods again.

Tried the bimbimbap, not bad! The sauce is flavourful and the portion of the rice is big. The soup and the kimchi so so only. $6, not bad in downtown area. Free flow tea available.

Halal Certified Korean Food. Good service. Favourite is Hot Plate Chicken. Place is usually packed during lunch office hours. Opens 9am-5pm weekdays.

Another restaurant at The Basement Food Court across from Lau Pa Sat. Another winner I had the Korean porridge wit what tasted like Korean Beef Bulgogi $6.50 and my colleague had a ramyeon dish. Not only affordable but quite yummy! Try for your lunch in CBD area.

I top up $1 for an egg, but it was raw and the temperature of the porridge was not hot enough to turn the egg cooked.

Long queue at this Korean store. Tried ramen here (forgot to take a picture). Found it average. They cook it with kimchi which is good but soup turns too sour :(

Ordered beef kimchi ramen at lunch peak and it was ready immediately after my order. Found out its normal temperature with raw egg. So I returned the ramen to the lady and she told me will recook for me, no explanation the ramen is returned by someone or they prepared by mistake. But I'm sure the ramen has been put outside for long time. I then told her I'm pregnant and pls make sure egg is cooked. 1 mins later my ramen was ready, which is reheated using the one I returned. Noodle is soggy and mushy, bowl surrounded by red soup stains as the pour out to reheat with rubber-chewing beef. This stall has horrible hygiene concerns and food comes with no standard.

It's very crowded during lunch time, u just have to eat and go. U order & pay at the cashier, ur number will be printed on the recipt. The numbers do not goes by order, it jumps, so u have to take note. Just keep on check the monitor screen. Order hot pot chicken cost $7.50, spiciness level just nice. Self serve free tea available. Here no tax.

Long queue at this Korean store. Ramyun 3/5 Tried ramyun here (forgot to take a picture). Found it average. They cook it with kimchi which is good but soup turns too sour :( Porridge 1/5 Very plain tasting porridge. Has corn in it which makes it sweet, not a fan of this combination

You called this kimchi pancake??? It’s totally diffrent from the photo on the menu. When I got this plate, I even confirmed with the clerk. She was like” sure this is kimchi pancake, what??”. Terrible taste and awful service, not deserve a try.
