Review edited after sincere conversation with the boss: The issue is a lack of basic food safety standards. Town council workers came in during operation hours with a long handled broomstick to sweep cobwebs and dust that have gathered on the high walls and ceiling. The in-house baker continued to prepare fresh dough below while dirt was raining directly on the food. There were multiple trays of fresh bread exposed, I witnessed the dirt falling directly onto the breads. When I spoke to the foreign workers, they claimed they already informed the staff to cover the food before they started sweeping, but the staff asked them to proceed anyway. Perhaps seeing I was visibly distressed inside the shop, they started to cover some of the food items. As the cleaning continued around the inside perimeter of the ceiling, dirt was now raining down on fresh trays of warm bread not inside the display units, and on the waffle machine with the lids open, directly onto the food contact surfaces. When I verbally confronted the staff about food safety standards, all I got was some smiles and was mostly ignored. After speaking to the boss the following day to understand the situation further, I realised he came back from using the restroom almost the same time as my departure from the scene, discovered to his horror what had happened, and to his credit, threw away all the food and remade everything. I have deep respect for his professionalism. I also applaud his sincerity, honesty and earnestness. The standard of baking at this bakery is without doubt extremely high, certainly way above conventional bakery chains. Nobody who can bake bread of this standard is careless about the smallest details. The boss has many years of experience working in the hotel industry, is immensely skilled, and was personally very disappointed at his staff's failing over so basic a matter, yet bore the full responsibility. Everybody makes mistakes, and deserves second chances. I ammend my review to reflect the fuller picture more accurately.

Very amazed by the taste & quality of the bakes at this neighborhood bakery! I have tried earl grey white chocolate bread, bread of the day (banana walnut bread w ham & cheese), blueberry danish and they were giving cafe standards! Service is great too, thank you!

From loaves to pastries, everything is made with such care and tastes wonderful-nothing like standard neighbourhood bakes; you can tell these are more premium standard. The staff here are also friendly and helpful. Which makes the hold experience even nicer. I first tried their earthly white chocolate bread and it was so good I couldn’t stop eating it—such a joy for my tea break! My other picks include: • Cranberry earthly bread: Soft, wholesome, studded with cranberries and full of lovely flavour • Truffle potato & mushroom pastry: Rich, creamy, deeply aromatic truffle filling with earthy mushrooms in a crisp golden crust • Blueberry pastry: Buttery flaky base, smooth cream, plump fresh blueberries and a sprinkle of pistachios for extra crunch Prices are a little higher than average, but honestly, the fresh ingredients, careful craft and wonderful taste make every cent worth it. If you want something special that stands out from the ordinary, Yaya Bakery is a wonderful treat.😊

Delicious bakes. Friendly neighbourhood baker. With free tables and chairs to take your bread. They serve coffee too from a good coffee maker. Simplicity at its best.

Delicious, affordable, good quality bakery, that sells the best Sun Dried Tomato Bagel in Singapore that easily beat those hip bagel shops in town, Yaya Bakery is truly a hidden gem. Since I fell in love with their sun dried tomato bagel, I’ve been patronizing this bakery a few times and tried a lot of their different bakes. All of it were good quality bread with affordable neighborhood bakery price. Though for me, nothing beat their sun dried tomato bagel. Oh, their focaccia was really great too! Highly recommended to check this bakery out, even if it’s a little out of the way.
