This unmistakably home grown brand have done well since it's humbling start in HDB heartlands. Now ensconced in relatively higher orders of malls, it may do well to remember how they gotten so far. This outlet in Clementi Mall is a case in point. High traffic doesn't mean lax with customer experience. Pay and vamoosh is not good practice in a super aging demography. Older people just takes more time to decide and clarify. Staff do what they do best. Brand owners look at turnover and profits. This is shortsighted. What am I trying to say? Because I observed how perfunctory the counter staffs are dealing with the queue as closing time nears. Not rude but could be better.

I am in Clementi outlet on 16 May, 4.08pm. Staff number: 28767 stated in the receipt. I bought 5 boxes of Swiss rolls for 4 other friends and the cashier only gave me 1 big bag. I told her that I am giving to 4 other people and ask for 4 bags. She refused n said only the first bag is free. I asked if I can pay individually but she refused and she already keyed in the order. I think this kind of service is not acceptable. She could have cancelled my first order n arrange for me to pay individually. Please train your staff to be flexible and do indicate that only the first bag is free at the cashier.

Today, 20 Nov, at around 10.20am, I had the pleasure of being served by a Chinese lady and a Malay lady at the cashier counter. Both of them truly exemplified the spirit of lifelong learning. With the introduction of the new Swee Heng app, both customers and F&B staff naturally need some hands-on experience to get familiar with the process. Despite me being their first customer using the app, they remained calm, patient, and positive throughout the entire transaction. I watched as they worked together to navigate the cashier terminal, and when the purchase finally went through successfully, they smiled and laughed, saying they had now learned how to process an app transaction. Learning new things—especially digital processes—can be daunting, even more so with age. Instead of asking me to switch payment methods or responding with a dismissive attitude , they took the opportunity to learn while still providing excellent service with smiles. These two staff members deserve to be recognised for their professionalism, patience, and willingness to grow.

Shop auntie was so sweet and nice! (: Was pleasantly surprised that the cake I bought came with a set of paper plates, forks, and knife, even though I only asked for 1 candle. Thank you so much! & the dark chocolate mousse cake is delicious. (:

The pineapple bun egg tart fusion was a bit of a miss as I didn't like the ratio (too much egg tart filling). The pandan bun and cranberry muffin were pleasant though, and the bakery is certainly good quality.
