First of all, I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand how difficult it is to work in the F&B industry, and small mistakes are normal. However, after dining and purchasing from this shop regularly at Kallang Bahru subway for such a long time, this is the first time I’ve experienced such a lack of hospitality and empathy. I was with my two-year-old child, and we ordered the same simple meal we usually buy every day — an egg mayo set with white bread and a drink. On this particular day, they only had very cold mineral water available. Usually, when this happens, other staff members kindly provide a small amount of hot water so I can mix it with the cold water and make it suitable for my toddler, especially since the area is very cold and I unfortunately forgot to bring his bottle that day. To my surprise, the Malay lady serving us insisted on charging me $2.90 for a small cup of hot water. It’s not about whether I can afford to pay — it’s the principle behind charging that amount for a little hot water meant for a toddler. She explained that she was “just following the manager’s instructions,” which honestly made the situation even more disappointing. Are staff really not allowed to offer a small amount of hot water for a child without being scolded? What upset me the most was the lack of empathy and understanding while I was trying to explain the situation. We had already purchased a meal and drinks, and I was only requesting a small gesture of kindness for my child. I sincerely hope the management and owners will take this feedback seriously and reconsider how situations like this are handled in the future. Good customer service is not only about following policies strictly, but also about showing compassion and basic hospitality to loyal customers.

Kudos to the staff for the warm customer service! First time I’ve been greeted upon entering a Subway outlet. The servers are friendly, conscientious, and give generous portions. I got my usual chicken chorizo set and as always it’s a 10/10. Keep up the good work 👍
