I tried both the Nasi Sambal Goreng and the Nasi Rawon, and they were outstanding. The Nasi Sambal Goreng had everything I look for. The sambal goreng was rich, fragrant, and packed with flavour without being overwhelmingly spicy. Every component complemented the others, making each mouthful satisfying. The Nasi Rawon was equally impressive. The broth was deep, earthy, and incredibly comforting. It tasted like something that had been simmered with care rather than rushed. What stood out most was that nothing felt overly salty or heavy. The flavours were well balanced, and you could tell the food was prepared with attention to quality rather than shortcuts. If you're in the east and enjoy authentic Malay and Indonesian cuisine, Selera Sumang is well worth the visit. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu.

don't mind the unglam photo. stumbled upon this stall by my colleague who always buys from this stall for our team lunches. it's sinfully delicious! nasi rawon, nasi sambal goreng, nasi lemak and pretty much everything was amazing. even after sitting in the wrapping paper for 1 hour, the chicken wing still tasted sooooo good.🤩 would definitely travel just for this.

Sumang Nasi Padang at Pasir Ris serves truly authentic nasi sambal goreng- the flavours are spot on, and the spices are just right. I love to see more vegetables in lontong and the tofu is too crispy to my liking. This stall is very popular, but I felt the service could be improved. The young lady serving didn’t seem very approachable- no smile which came across as a little unfriendly. Overall, the food is still satisfying and tasty!
