A new chain of fried chicken perhaps but personally I have not tried their fried chicken. This is a stall located inside a newly opened coffee shop called Chang cheng. Anyway, they offer Korean style fried chicken in which one can choose the seasoning like spicy, sweet and spicy, soy sauce and butter honey. Quite an interesting menu and this is the first time that I see a Korean styled fried chicken at a coffee shop. A new option for the residents here.

The ultimate test for crispy fried chicken is to buy take away and see if it is still crispy after some time. I did exactly that to my 3 piece chicken rice set from Waker Chicken. Lo and behold, it was still crispy and tender when I ate it 30 mins after I received my order. The chicken seasoning was a tad salty for me but others would have liked it. The rice was buttery in taste which was delicious but the fries were a little soggy. For that I gave it one star less. Sorry to compare with the famous K Fried Chicken but it’s nowhere near Waker and Waker has more to offer in terms of different flavours. No wonder it is opening outlets one after another.

Edit: 5>3 stars because recently I ordered the same thing to dine in, the 3 piece rice set, the chicken portion shrunk to about half (no joke) and the rice was clumpy and not really warm. Seems from the other reviews about staff being rude and issues with ordering so maybe there are issues that need to be looked at other than just the food. Good rice sets great chicken. Worth your calories. Value for money too. Honey butter chicken tastes like restaurant level food~

This is a new coffee shop that took over the previous CK department stall and just opened this week. The food is just as described on the banner that they use only fresh whole chicken so that the meat tasted fresh, juicy & crispy. That’s exactly the taste when u ate it hot. However the staff at the stall does not seemed too eager to take my order. I was at the counter and one of the staff was back facing me while doing her dishes and when I finally got her attention, she turned around and said “no rice set” without explaining what is available for ordering. Luckily I wasn’t interested in the rice set and she continued repeating that to all the customers that approach the stall. 😂 😂 I find it funny because the customers didn’t seemed interested in the rice sets anyways. I went for the original flavor half chicken and yes the fried chicken tasted good and would haven given 5 stars if the staff was more eager to take my order considering this was only their 1st week of business. As I collected my order, I asked the staff for sauces and she pointed me to a bunch of chilli satchels in-front of her. So pls remember to help yourself with the sauces unless you don’t need those. 😝

Waker chicken @ Clementi - Placed order for 1 Original chicken tenders x 8pcs & 1 spicy chicken (Full chicken) x 14pcs - both takeaway. Upon reaching home.. only to find out that my spicy chicken = 7pcs. As I'm not from Clementi (happened to be near there & decided to tp for dinner), I found it not worth to go all the way back to claim for the other 7pcs. Do note that i paid $38.80 cash. Btw.. why do you have to cut up the chicken tenders? So, pls check your orders carefully before leaving!

I tried half swicy and half soy garlic. The base taste of the sauces were good but they diluted their sauce too much. I could barely taste the sticky sweet/salty/spicy. Eating those types of fried chicken is to enjoy the sauces - Perhaps they can save cost by diluting the sauces for the short term but they won’t be able to sustain business in the long run.

I am glad that the business is doing well and the food is great. However, I personally feel that the manpower could be better as I observed only 1 person is tending to all. This is my raised concern to the Human Resource or the higher management level to buck on their employment to mend the place with smooth and ease. When the well being of staff is cared for, the food and business will always be top.

The chicken is quite dry, but the sides are good. The butter rice is soft, fries are thick cut and full, coleslaw was tasty. Ate a late meal, so the staff served me an extra piece of chicken on the house, so the service is exceptional.

Chicken were very juicy, served steaming hot and actually pretty delicious. I liked the soy chicken, but the normal fried chicken were under seasoned. $14 for half a chicken (7 pieces)

Been here twice and really love the soy chicken here. The pricing is extremely affordable but the pieces are not big. For $7.90, u can get a rice set which comes with fries, rice and 3 pcs of chicken. Service can be slow so please have time scheduled for the meal.

Went there late, but managed to order before closing. Ordered 7 pieces, but was given 10 pieces, and she gave 2 flavours for that too. The chicken is well fried and delicious. 5 stars for the service and the price compared to any Korean fried chicken restaurant

Ordered takeaway for the 8pc Honey Butter chicken tenders - gotta be the worst ever. I spent so long chewing each piece (tender?? Zhun bo) Pathetic amount of Honey Butter seasoning given, you can hardly see any of the powder. Also, cut until like this how I know if got 8pc?? Was looking forward to lunch but what a disappointment.
