Love their chicken chop with mushroom sauce! It has the old school nostalgic taste, the chicken fillet is also of reasonable thickness (not like some other places, becoming thinner and thinner). Their portions of coleslaw, baked beans and fries are also generous. And yes, their fries are fried just right too! And $6.80 for all these goodness, definitely value for money!! 👍🏻👍🏻

a muslim-owned stall that serve cheap and good old-school Western food. We tried Chicken Chop with mushroom sauce Their chicken chop definitely a big portion!! The meat is thicc, tender, juicy and grilled to perfection with a nice char and smoky flavour! The mushroom sauce is also well balanced - subtly sweet and savoury, not overly salty that goes well with the tender chicken chop. It’s not every day that you’ll get to find a thick piece of tender chicken chop in your neighbourhood so it is really a bang for your buck Lemon Butter Salmon This was really delicious too. Salmon fillet was nicely par seared. Lemon butter sauce was tangy, enhancing the natural flavour of the salmon, added a refreshing citrusy note. IMO the fillet compared to outside hawker is consider thicker already. Sunshine Fried Rice No frill, cook with basic ingredients and every grain was fluffy and flavourful. The overall texture was just right – not too dry, not too wet. All in all, I love how these huge portions are priced very reasonably.

Located in Jurong West Hawker Center, Rasa Sayang is a hidden gem where they serve affordable price of western food with a wide variety of mains and sides. We had Sirloin Steak which was very tender and juicy, Fried Rice with Fish which was a good staple meal as well as addictive cheese fries with lots of cheese. The place is very airy with lots of seats too.

Rasa Sayang at Jurong West is a popular halal-certified Western food stall located at #02-11, JW50 Hawker Heritage, 50 Jurong West Street 61, Singapore 648202. The stall is known for its affordable and generous portions of Western fare, making it a favorite among locals. The Lemon Butter Salmon at Rasa Sayang Western Food is a notable dish that stands out for its affordability and flavor. Priced at $9, it offers a good value for money, especially considering the portion size and quality. Flavor and Texture The salmon is cooked to perfection, maintaining a delicate balance between a crispy exterior and a moist, tender interior. The butter sauce adds a rich, creamy layer of flavor that complements the natural taste of the salmon without overpowering it. The garlic butter option, in particular, is highly recommended for its aromatic and savory notes. Presentation The dish is typically served with a side of coleslaw, baked beans and crinkle-cut fries. While the sides are fairly standard and reminiscent of old-school Western food, they provide a nostalgic touch that many diners appreciate. The Lamb Chop at Rasa Sayang is another highlight, priced at $9.80. Despite lamb’s reputation for gaminess, this dish has managed to win over many diners with its careful preparation and seasoning. Flavor and Texture The lamb chop is well-charred and seasoned with a blend of aromatic herbs that enhance its natural flavors. The meat is tender and juicy, avoiding the common pitfalls of being overly tough or leathery. The gaminess is well-managed, making it palatable even for those who might typically shy away from lamb. Presentation Similar to the Butter Salmon, the Lamb Chop is served with sides of coleslaw, baked beans and crinkle-cut fries. The sides, while simple, complement the main dish well and add a comforting, familiar touch to the meal.

Went to try a Halal-certified Western Food for lunch in a newly renovated JW50 Hawker Centre, formerly known as Jurong West Hawker Centre. I ordered Chicken Chop, Lemon Butter Chicken, and Seafood Spaghetti. The chicken chicken was nicely grilled, retaining its juicy tenderness with a hint of smokiness that added depth to each bite. The slight char and crispiness had a nostalgic charm, reminding me of childhood meals at neighborhood eateries. It was served with a flavorful mushroom sauce that complemented the dish. The portion size was generous, and it came with a side of crispy crinkle cut fries, baked beans and some fresh coleslaws which was made with finely shredded cabbage and carrots. The coleslaw's dressing was creamy yet tangy, with a hint of sweetness that balanced the crunch of the shredded vegetables perfectly, a great accompaniment to the chicken chop, providing a cool contrast to the warm and savory flavors of the main dish. Lemon Butter Salmon was also paired with baked beans and Coleslaw. The salmon fillet was nicely pan seared with a crispy skin giving way to tender, flaky flesh. The lemon butter sauce was tangy, enhancing the natural flavors of the fish, and added a refreshing citrusy note that complemented the richness of the salmon. I only wish that it could be a thicker slab of salmon. Also curious about their pasta, I ordered a Seafood Spaghetti to share. The pasta was cooked to al dente, a good texture to that complements the tender seafood. Generous seafood ingredients given, which includes shrimp, mussels, and fish chunks, added a delightful brininess to each bite. The tomato sauce is not overly rich. Tangy, with hints of garlic and herbs that enhance the overall depth of flavor. Overall, there isn't much wow factor to this dish however, a comforting and hearty choice that showcases the nostalgic flavors of traditional seafood spaghetti in a light tangy tomato sauce. Rasa Sayang's food portion is generous and at an affordable price point. CDC voucher is accepted too. Environment of their JW50 Hawker Centre is very airy, clean and spacious with a lot of seats. Car park is available within same building. This place is about 8mins walk away from Pioneer MRT station (Exit B). Will come by again to try other dishes when I am at the West!
