Post lunch time was easier to get a table for 2 on weekend. Staff took our orders within minutes of deciding. Food came in acceptable time and was piping hot. Delightful service and overall had a wonderful lunch.

It's quite rare to find Jawa Timur dishes in SG and this place has been my go to place if I'm craving for good Indonesian and Jawa Timur dishes. Some of my favorites include the bakwan jagung, mee goreng and nasi goreng jawa, and the sate ayam. Coming from Jawa Timur, I would say that the taste of the dishes is pretty authentic. The price is reasonable for the area and service is fast.

The food here is really good and the service is always excellent. Some of the curries are a bit oily, but otherwise everything is very authentic and tasty. Price is ok. Will return again and again but for the oilier foods I don’t think I can eat too often

Good food, good service. I’ve been here twice now & the latest one was on a Friday night peak dinner hour. There was a queue of people waiting outside. Despite the restaurant being very crowded, the staff were still attentive and the food quality good. Pricing was also wait, not expensive for what it is in Singapore. To me, their peanut sauce tastes a bit more coconut-y like they’ve added coconut oil to it perhaps, just FYI. Overall, genuine tastes and my favourite was the Ayam Penyet. Recommend!

Food was actually pretty good. Except for the sliced egg that was pretty cold 🥶😒, everything else was hot and tasty! Service was also not bad! When the staff realised I didn’t order a drink, he asked if I wanted a cup of water, and even shared that it’s complimentary 🙏 would return to try the other dishes! Prices are very reasonable for the orchard belt.

The food was okie. Pricing wise it is slightly cheaper than a few other popular brands. Overall service is ok too. Attentive service and friendly boss. The only unpleasant experience was the smelly menu. Guess the material was made in PU leather. Spoilt my mood. They should change their menu…. Very unpleasant. The nasi kuning was above average - quite fragrant. The soup ayam noodles was really good. The satay sauce was good but the chicken lacks of marination. Overall I give 4 stars for food but the smelly menu worths only 1 star.

their rendang beef was really good. i ordered the rendang jawa timur which came in 3 big cubes. for a small eater like me, i could only finished 2.5 cubes with white rice. the lady at the counter was really nice to offer me a glass of warm water when i told her im not ordering any drinks. would return agn next time to try other dishes.

Everything we tried was flavourful! The nasi kuning, fried chicken and beef rendang were really good. But the highlight was the sop buntut. I’m a big fan of this dish and this restaurant does a good one! Service was really quick with the place being half full.

Walked in for Sunday lunch. Ordered first at counter and pay later before you leave. Attentive boss at the cashier. Note that ayam penyet is without rice. Sambal wasn't spicy enough but chicken portion was good. Iced lime drink was refreshing. Fried rice was on point.

The beef rendang was delicious and tender; and the gado gado had the perfect consistency of peanut sauce. We arrived slightly before 12 noon on a Saturday and were easily seated, but the restaurant quickly filled up soon after.

Sadly we find their food good and budget friendly but the guy assigned in the reception and cashier failed the customer service. This is our first visit and he didn’t allow us to get our preferred seat as he told us they are already closing and telling us uncomfortably. So we went to the other side that is vacant as we understand his point. But few minutes, new customers came in and he offered the seat to them. He selectively gave good service to customers he knew I supposed as he serves them very well. When we paid at the cashier, the lady who may be the manager is showing a good service by asking how is the food and told her the incident. I responded the food is good but your reception service sucks . It will be our first and the last . Truly , an employee who does not care your business … will ruin it. I hope they will put him somewhere that he can do very well not in the reception area. Ironically, they have a customer service charge .

Nasi kuning rendang ($14.90) - Mostly tender beef rendang. The perkedel, fried sambal peanut anchovy, and yellow rice were good too. Wedang jahe (ginger tea) ($5) - Good, strong flavours with peanuts and other stuff.

Highlight of the meal was certainly the rendang & perkedel! For $6, dont think the chendol drink was extremely value for money.

Pondok Jawa Timur impresses with its delightful Indonesian cuisine, as experienced through the Gado Gado and Soto Ayam I ordered. Both offerings were flavourful and delicious, showcasing the authentic taste of Indonesian flavours.

First visit, food wise is nice but is a little pricey and has never had a Ayam penyet that you required to order the rice separately, chicken size is small too. A meal for two with tax and service charge is appx $36.

Ayam penyet grilled- portion is decent and this definitely is the star of the show. Meat is well grilled and still juicy. The fried version was a tad disappointing because while the taste of the fried chicken is good the meat was too dry. Some parts are almost hard and portion seems smaller compared to the grilled version. Rice needs to be ordered separately. The avocado shake i dunno wad to make out of it. Could hardly taste the avocado and gula melaka despite stirring it. It just tastes thick but really dont have much flavour. This drink costs 6.90 before taxes. And the hot tea wasnt hot more like slightly above room temperature. Total about $33. Not returning cos I can get better ayam penyet elsewhere. But one thing though the service (not sure is owner or mgr) was excellent.

Quality authentic Indonesia food at affordable price! We got the ayam penyet & soto ayam set lunch. Curry vegetable was so good that we ordered again!😋
