Came here for lunch on a weekday on a friend's recommendation, weren't a lot of people. Food is just edible, home-cook tastes. Budget-friendly. Halal Chinese food. The premise is not well maintained.

Interesting eatery. It is Chinese cuisine and it is halal. I must say the curry chicken is pretty amazing. It is like eating mee rebus but in thick curry gravy. A very generous portion for $5.50

Good curry chicken noodle, with the chicken in particular being very nice and tender, even the breast. A mild but flavourful curry. The ngoh hiang is also fantastic.

The food is not bad. The beef fried rice tasted like homecooked fried rice. Crowded during lunch times on weekends.

The Menu is good. Alot of variety. Comparable to their neighbour next door Puncak which i feel quality dropped, (honeydew chicken was bland!) Cahaya restaurant really shined with their famous ngor hiang! First its home made with alot of REAL ingredients u can taste and feel on your tongue. Next door, looks like its bought or factory made like a fish cake. U will love the food at cahaya. Worth it ❤️

Place to go if we pass by Orchard and our standard go food would be Fried wantan. In the past, we always get it hot. Nowadays what we get is warm. As for the drink, tea with milk was kinda diluted.

Came here for lunch on a weekday. Overall, I was greatly disappointed with the experience. It seems that the quality of the salted egg chicken with steamed rice has declined, which has resulted in a loss of flavor and texture. While I used to enjoy this regularly, I will now be searching for a new brand to satisfy my cravings for salted egg treats. It's a shame that this once-great product has fallen from grace.

Best tom yum in singapore! Spicy, delicious and smooth to swallow. Will always come here for their tom yum! Wanton soup is absolutely delicious! Light broth flavour goes really well with their handmade skin wanton;) will definitely be back here again! Another plus point is their wallet friendly pricing

Years ago I used to come here quite often for simple and decent food for hawker prices. The prices may not have changed much but the food certainly has. I haven't been here since covid began, and it seems that the staff have all been replaced as well. The food I ordered was salty af. The fried wonton was just inedible. The fried chicken rice was extreme in its taste as well, and I don't mean it in a good way. I can't remember what else I ordered, but it was close to $20 worth of food. All wasted. While waiting for the food, I watched this PRC lady transferring mayonnaise from old containers to a newer one. One of the containers had moldy mayonnaise and I could see the blackish blobs when she poured it in. She wasn't looking, she was busy talking. I alerted her on it and she seemed confused. She took the container to the kitchen and peered in it, as if she could see thru the existing mayonnaise poured above the black blobs. I got my takeaway food before I could see the rest what happened and I left. I will never come back. Never. It was a weekend and it was rather empty and now I know why.

This place is too crowded. My family and I ordered oyster chicken noodle, oyster chicken rice, carrot cake, beef kue teow with soup and drinks. When the food came it was so disappointed. The beef kue teow with soup was so tasteless and too much soy sauce in it. My kids also complained to me that the noodles were not soft. The prices were expensive and the food taste is so unsatisfactory. They should do something about their food if they want their customer to come back. As a customer, we can leave our feedback about food that we have tried. The service was bad because the waiters and waiteress are not friendly!!!

Cahaya restaurant is located at the highest level of Far East Plaza. The rest day of this store is every Wednesdays. The food is not very appealing or tasty. The price is also not cheap. Thai basil chicken rice did not have the basil taste. The honeydew sauce chicken rice does not taste like honeydew sauce. The sauce tasted diluted and tasteless. Would not recommend this place.

Halal certified ☘️👍🏻 this eatery offers a dose of nostalgia 🍛 for those who used to come after school many years ago. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately for young students, there are many more options for affordable eats around this part of Orchard 🩷 worth checking out if you already have plans nearby

I ordered fried fish soup on the go and I’m so shocked it came without the soup. Seriously this is the lousiest fish soup ever in my whole entire life. Come on. Why do you even stinge on the soup. And if you are not good at it, don’t sell it. Highly don’t recommend.

This food joint has been operating for at least 2 decades here, possibly 3. We come here for good memories. I always love their fried wanton and Sotong youtiao. They used to serve sauce and mayo separately, now they are all in a plate. Still great though. Another special item is they are one of the few coffeeshop places with chilli crab noodles/rice. Mind you, no crab in the noodles, just the chilli crab sauce with lotsa fish cake. Yet we order it each time we come for good times sake. The oyster omelette is fluffy and oysters, some are pulpy but some overcooked. 😅 Their hot plate tofu is for sharing. Not just for 2 persons but 3-4 perhaps. Also lotsa fish cake. 😊

The dishes at this restaurant are over-spiced, either super salty, or super sweet and expensive as well for the food quality. I would strongly recommend anyone considering to dine here to definitely avoid this place. There's better value for your money & it really beats me how this restaurant managed to survive for so long. Definitely will not come here to dine another time

I know I ordered Hotplate Noodles but I seem to receive ginger, garlic hotplate noodles instead. Came across the (negative) google reviews here before visiting cause wanted to check if the store is open/close due to the CNY week, and thought ah couldn’t be cause the food has always been enjoyable and brings good memories! But…. I was proven to be wrong. 😑 I should’ve just believed the reviews that have been posted in the recent months. I really hope the management takes this seriously or else you’ll start to lose customers (I am one of them). Highlighting 2 issues here. 1) my dish had 2 chunks of ginger (which is very generous but not necessary really) and a whole clove of garlic. that explains the bland taste! the chef/cook didn’t even bother to grate or finely cut them so that it will flavour the dish???? I know i can cook a pot of soup with that amt of ginger! This truly gives an impression that the food was prepared anyhow kind like just throw and yep it was tasteless I struggle to enjoy and finish my food. 2) We ordered a staple/signature fav: fried sotong u-tiao with wanton. While everyone else around me (tables beside, opposite, across) received theirs, we didn’t. Some tables even arrived and ordered later than us and gotten it! So we thought maybe was missed out so halfway through our meal, we asked the staff and he checked and informed us.. “yeah it’s coming”. so we waited. and waited. and 3 other tables received the fried wanton. and we don’t. 😞 was super disappointed and no mood already cause the main reason why i came to cahaya was this fried side dish! we decided to just pay and said we didn’t receive. one of the staff was like… huh? and said sorry. it’s very disappointing. when you see EVERYONE ELSE getting the dish you ordered but you didn’t. the whole experience was just too unpleasant. been eating here since my secondary school days! but i guess things change (and sometimes not for the better).
