I am quite disappointed with the pricing transparency at Sahara Middle Eastern Cuisines Pty Ltd. The menu displayed outside clearly lists Lamb Mandi with Rice for $16.50. Based on this, I made my decision to enter and order. However, I was later charged $22.50 without any clear explanation or prior warning. This creates a misleading impression for customers and raises concerns regarding compliance with Australian Consumer Law, particularly in relation to accurate and transparent pricing. If different portion sizes or versions exist, this must be clearly stated on the menu and communicated before the order is placed. Customers should not be surprised with a higher price at checkout. I would strongly recommend the business review its pricing practices to ensure clarity and fairness. Otherwise, this may warrant further attention from consumer protection authorities. Food quality was acceptable, but the overall experience was negatively impacted by this issue.

For lunch on Friday early December 2025, my son suggested Sahara Middle Eastern in the CBD. We ordered lamb and roce and sat outside admiring the lovely building the restaurant is housed in. When our meals were ready they were served covered in a large to keep them warm. The lamb was beautiful, cooked to perfection! And very large servings too. My meat was three times the size of my palm, do I took a third home for later. The service was friendly and 😆efficient, and the passing parade of people on the street all had lovely smiles on their faces. Another enjoyable late lunch with my son! 🧡🙋🏼♀️

Food is delicious. The chicken is very tender. All good. Price is acceptable. We order 1 set and eat together.

⭐ 2/5 Uninviting experience. A handwritten sign on the window said “all items increased by $2”, but the printed menu wasn’t updated — making pricing unclear (e.g. $7 items now $9). While I stood reading the menu, a man inside (possibly staff or the owner) stared at me while on his phone, which felt awkward. The interior looked tired and dated. To top it off, a woman inside was on a loud speakerphone call, which added to the uncomfortable vibe. I chose not to dine here. Needs clearer pricing, a warmer atmosphere, and basic professionalism.

The lamb mandi tastes really well, however its a request that you should work on increasing the quantity of your rice and tomato sauce which you provide with the meal.
