Staff was polite and service was good. We ordered Ambeng Light :Fish Sambal and Chicken Lemak ; Ambeng Solo Beef Rendang. Unfortunately we were there 45 minutes before closing at 8pm on a Sunday night , the food was not warm enough and side dishes were not available. Serving portion was large. It is value for money as there are no service tax and GST. The food is a tad salty for my liking. There will be no return visit for me.

Flavorful, but below average Malay food standards, more when kitchen uses frozen old ingredients. Especially the chicken, always overcooked and dead dry rubbery, hazardous to any gum and health. Expensive, $$.

The lady attendant is rude. Stayed outside waiting for the opening but insisted that I should stay out, which I am already doing. Mind you, their published operating hours is 11am to 5pm. Their own policy, which they can't keep. This lady is badly representing the shop. She should have avoided f&b if she didn't have patience for it. Not recommended. Also, they opened late than their published time. It shows poor time management.

Love the Nasi Ambeng or Nasi Padang here. Curry chicken and beef rendang both are exceptional, fragrant, juicy and tender. Rice set came with fried salted fish - another ⭐️ dish! Rice cooked a little firmer, the way o like it. Freshly prepared teh and kopi are available, as well as other canned drink choices.

One of the best nasi padang fare in town. It is a restaurant environment and place is clean. Lemak chilli chicken was totally heaven. Prices are transparent and each food items were nicely labelled at the counter. Unlike other stalls you will get a shocked when the bill comes. Over here, You will never feel short changed. Power Sedap!!!!

To me this is one of the affordable restaurants in the area. I usually go here for lunch with my officemates. If you like spicy foods, you would like it here. If you’re spiciness tolerance is low, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. I like their fried chicken and the vegetables choices. Beef rendang is ok also but is spicy for me. Fried fish is also ok. I think it deserve 5 stars considering that its quite cheap and you get what you paid for.

Have placed order for 3 sets of nasi ambeng on 1st Sep but to our disappointment the prawns was stale and the beef rendang was tough. It was an embarrassing moment when my guests were eating and I actually had their feedback. Wrote to Spice Affair and they replied that will ensure they will investigate the matter and will not let it happen again. But, after such experience, unlikely I would want to order again.

I have both at their shop a coupel of times over the years and the standard is not consistent, unfortunately. Because of the lack of choices of musilm or malay food here, you will end up at spice affair. First of all, it's always crowded at lunchtime. The space between seats are really tight too. So we decided to pack this time. They only serve for individual packet, choose your rice and the dishes. They do not allow buying dishes individually. Total lack of flexibility. Next, they are on the pricier side, begadil or a tofu dishes is almost $2. While the meat is around $4, beef rendang is slightly more. So a meal there is easily $10 per person without drink. The beef was a huge disappointment. A few of us ordered and is tough and leave an unpleasant sensation on the tongue, a bit of a tart. The spices had not infused into the meat chunk and it was really tough to chew. Even to tear it with the utensils were tough. The tofu was relatively good in comparison. Begadil was tasty, but really small for the price paid. Like a ping pong ball smashed flat. There are better padang stalls out there.

So disappointed. I always like spice affair but today the beef rendang is hard to chew I’m not sure it’s using frozen beef… I used to have beef rendang which was delicious and soft …
