2026 August First visit and bought the Classic Semla. Been curious about it since it's a traditional Swedish wheat bun. Tried it and it's hollowd out and filled with almond paste and generous swirl of whipped cream. Researched a bit more and seems the origin story is that it's served as a final rich, high-calorie feast to "fatten up" before the strict 40-day Christian fasting period of Lent. We tried it (shared between two pax) and it was certainly sweet and filling 🍞 We went around 730pm and there were no other customers around. The girl staff managing the bakery was nice, friendly, welcoming and patient while she waited for us to make up our mind and answered our questions, thank you

I have mix feelings for this place. It has a beautiful facade, array of delectable looking pastries but feels that is just about it. 1. I don’t know why the staff always looks so disengaged and expressionless. No smiles or greets. Glum. 2. Bakes look good but tad pricey. Taste wise ok. Very sweet - watch your sugar level. So on my next visit I decided to skip the very sweet bakes and go for something classic - fruit scone. Not much hint of butter. Some raisins. It was dense inside like the dough has been overworked. Over done, inside was dry and the outside was so brown. Was scones like stones. Price $4. So hence my mix review. I think it’s a pretty place with pretty-looking bakes in a high traffic location of Kampong Gelam. That’s about it. I will go elsewhere for better bakes, pricing and experience.

Their lineup of pastries is so appetising! Had the Kinder Bueno Knafeh Danish, it was 10/10! Great for a sweet treat. Definitely gonna come back to try the other baked goods.

Red velvet croissant is not great as the croissant is flat. I did not find much red velvet taste going for it too with too much cream in the middle so there’s no balance. The pain aux raisin was also very average tasting cold. It was better heated up though. Both are better toasted before eating but generally mid.

Feb 2026 I really wanted to love this place. They have wide variety of selections. One is really spoilt for choice when you’re here. I ordered the semla, honey cake and pistachio knafeh danish. Paid $20+ if I recalled correctly. The cakes are very one dimensional and borderline dry. Only the pistachio danish is decent enough in taste and quality. They only allow 5 customers to be in the shop at any point in time which I think is great as the shopfront is quite small. So you have ample space and time to browse through the items before deciding what to buy.
