One of the most terrible mamak experiences can be found here at Al-Jalal. Slow service is expected because they rather speak to their friends and co-workers than entertain you. Egg and plain pratas are pre-made in large batches and openly placed behind the cashier. I thought it was a practice during peak hours where hygiene and quality would not be a problem it sells fast but I have seen it being done every visit to this coffeeshop even during off peak hours. They are served to you cold and the staff are incredibly reluctant to reheat for you and insist that it ‘just come out only’. There have also been several instances where prices were made up and vary from different staff and day. During my last visit, I had to pay $5 for a plain tissue prata despite it being less than $3 during previous visits. $5… add $2.50 more for a full biryani meal… In fact, even on GrabFood where the prices are usually inflated to reflect platform costs, it is only $4.73 for the same plain tissue prata! They have also removed and/or covered their prices in recent times so you don’t really have anywhere to refer to when paying. TLDR: terrible service, dine there only you’re into cold and soggy prata and being overcharged depending on the staff’s stock market.

Not the first time coming down. Bought 2 prata eggs as usual. Requested for it to be cut and pour in beef Kari gravy, well, the gravy cost $4.50. N they don’t want to cut it. Not coming there anymore. Even the ones at Northshore Plaza doesn’t charge $4.50 for the gravy. Daylight robbery.

Place take away order prata x3 eggs ($2.00 each) and x3 plain ($1.20 each) ones but reached home found only x2 egg and x3 plain ones. Do check your takeaway order before leaving although it could be troublesome. Will never buy from this stall anymore.😤
