Another unexpected place to go when I got to Singapore. I usually doubt halal food because the taste usually not too outstanding to my palate. But this restaurant breaks down my negative paradigm of halal food. Mackenzie’s chicken rice is so tasty! Service are good and the place is comfy just like your typical family restaurant. The chicken itself is so crispy, the rice is aromatic and edible to my palate. Everything’s so delicious and I am happy

Halal tze char restaurant which specialises in chicken rice. We didn't have their famous steamed white chicken. But we did order their lemon fried chicken. We didn't regret at all. It was deep fried to perfection, crispy on the outside while keeping the chicken moist. The sauce was tasty too. The hotplate tofu is another dish that we loved. Beansprout with salted fish was well cooked too. Beansprout was not too raw and didnt have the "green" taste. The salted fish was very fragrant which made the dish delicious. Last but not least, the chicken rice rice was very fragrant. Perfect staple to go with our dishes. Would definitely return to try other dishes!

Great Hidden Halal Chinese Restaurant. The roast chicken rice is hella dry but is so good! I think its meant to be dry as the flavour seemed to have sipped into the chicken meat. Quite affordable too at only $4.50 for the chicken rice set. The ngoh hiang is also super tasty and crunchy. Service can be a bit slow so a little bit of patience is needed. There’s indoor and outdoor seating and is clean. You feel like you’re in a traditional shophouse restaurant here that adds to the charm of dining here. I’d definitely be back to try their other dishes!

The worst restaurant in my opinion. Their teh tarik and coffee are machine made. Please ask before ordering. Upon asking the staff if it’s machine made, the guy at the counter just sat on the counter, fold his arms and answer you. No customer service at all, maybe he don’t know how to respect customers or answer them politely. I will definitely Not recommend this place to anyone. Regret coming here.

CASH ONLY. Wanted to try the Chicken Rice in halal form given it is Singapores national dish. While the pictures make it seem very unassuming and plain, it is actually very flavorful. It comes as roasted or steamed. They must brine it to get so much flavor. It was very cheap and the staff was very friendly. I would suggest this place. Portions are small, so if you have an American stomach, you may want to consider ordering an additional dish.

Quality of the food has deteriorated since, the Hainanese vibes of yesteryear cannot be felt. Yearn for the taste of old Hainanese's cuisines which is completely lost now. The staffs are all foreigners now.

We ate 3 menus: chicken rice, popiah, and fish sambal. Chicken rice was good and tender, one of the best halal chicken rice I tried in Singapore. My sons really like the chicken rice they ate so much! It's good to find this halal chinese restaurant here in Singapore. Another good thing if you're muslim: the bencoolen mosque is in the next alley, so you can sholat there after eat

I ate here before covid19 and it was very tasty and it not dissapoint today. Their food still tasted good. I recommend the Chicken rice, tofu hotplate and Ngor Hiang. The chicken was tender and fresh, however the rice lacked flavour. The chili sauce was tad the sour type and went well with the chicken rice. The Ngor Hiang had crispy edges which added crunch to the dish. Hotplate had sufficient number of the silky egg tofu too. Recommended to arrive early for lunch in order to get a table.
