圓 Yuan offered a delightful dining experience that truly stood out. The menu is crafted based on the seasonality of vegetables. Several dishes really hit the mark, especially the starters, which were fantastic. The range of nuts was not only flavorful but also quite unique. The dishes with cleaner flavours allowed the fresh vegetables to shine, showcasing their natural goodness. I especially enjoyed the amuse bouche with kohlrabi, celtuce and rattan pepper. The soup felt clean and light, perfectly setting the stage for the rest of the dishes. The olive spread served with bread was a refreshing and a unique take on a traditional bread course. Each plate was innovative, featuring a diverse array of vegetables that kept things exciting throughout the meal. The progression of the courses was intriguing, leading to a memorable finale. Overall, it was a truly unique experience. Tofu-tally worth it!

I came to Yuan not entirely sure what to expect from a plant-forward tasting menu. I left completely enchanted. From the moment you walk in, the space holds you. The ambience is warm, minimal, and quietly beautiful, the kind of room that makes you slow down without even realizing it. Calligraphic art on the wall, soft lighting, muted tones. Everything feels intentional without feeling precious. A special mention must go to Athena, the hostess, who was absolutely wonderful. Her warmth and attentiveness set the tone for the entire evening and made the experience feel genuinely personal and welcoming from start to finish. The service overall matched that same energy: efficient, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm without being fussy or performative. Every dish was explained with real care, and you could feel that the team behind this restaurant truly believes in what they are creating. Now the food. Eight courses that moved through the meal like a story told slowly, each chapter more interesting than the last. The welcome drink, a blend of dried longan, hawthorn, chrysanthemum and osmanthus, set the tone immediately. Something ancient and quietly medicinal, beautifully fragrant. The amuse-bouche arrived as little panipuri cups nestled in a bowl of dried legumes, so visually playful and texturally delightful. The care given to every single detail was truly remarkable. What struck me most is how each dish managed to feel delicate yet deeply flavorful at the same time. The truffle, fava bean and spinach purée with pickled mustard green was extraordinary. The motherwort herb with white asparagus and celeriac in its vivid green pool was almost too beautiful to eat. The black sesame ice cream and tang yuan finale was rich, grounding, and perfectly restrained. Not a note out of place. And here is what I want to say to anyone on the fence: I did not feel deprived for a single moment. No food coma, no heaviness after eight full courses, just a quiet satisfaction and a kind of lightness I rarely feel after a special dinner. Yuan proves that plant-forward cuisine does not ask you to sacrifice anything. Quite the opposite. I am a firm believer in investing in culinary experiences that feel soulful and refined, and Yuan is one of the most worthwhile I have ever had. For anyone seeking a dining experience in HK that is beautiful, thoughtful, and genuinely nourishing in every sense of the word, this is it. Highly, genuinely, unreservedly recommended. 🌿

Yummy vegetarian/vegan cuisine 😋 As a vegetarian, I don’t have many choices in town. Yuan is definitely my go to place for special occasions I particularly like how they pair sparkling yuzu tea with food! Love it!

5 star cuisine and dining setting with -0 star hosting and service. Had celebration with family at Yuan for great reviews here, what a joy to know a vegetarian place with fab food, environment and, being seated next to windows with gorgeous views, nice location. Nightmare began with impoliteness from the female host Athena, with various rude facial expressions, tone and verbal ones. We were being pushed to leave towards the end by her walking around our table, lights turning on, loud chatting voice and staring from kitchen staff. The kitchen was open and a few times, we did hear foul and obscene languages from our table. $1xxx per hard for such painfully low hosting and service. No coming back.
