We tried Syed Cafe on recommendation from a relative while visiting Singapore. We tried some of the popular flatbread dishes: Egg Prata Cheese Prata Chicken Murtabak Roti john The two pratas were both good, but the curry it came with was a real hit, a great flavour and deep taste. The Murtabak was quite good but a bit heavy with what felt like a bit less filling than it should have had. The Roti john was good and quite filling, the chicken curry it came with was alright but not memorable. All in all we got a good meal for around S$20 which would easily fill 3 people. No-frills mamak style eatery with a wide variety of halal food options. Personally enjoyed the prata as it is more of the doughy and chewy sort, and also less oily than prata from other places. Maggi goreng ayam was pretty decent too, though ayam serving could be slightly more generous.

Enjoyed the Prata very much. Tissue was wonderful. Just choose your seats carefully if you’re sitting outside cos there are birds waiting to get a taste of your food.

I think the Maggie they go factory take, the butter chicken have to go kampong catch first, everything is very slow despite having little to no customers around. Portion enough to feed maybe a 5 years old child? This one Michelin restaurant I understand small portion but????

Renovated after taking over some stalls. Those restaurant serves a variety of Indian Muslim food and some western dishes. Pratas are good. Service is abrupt and can take some time. Occasionally pigeons would hang around for scraps where you sit.

The Garlic naan is more expensive than the normal naan. But I think it's worth it. It's really nice and generous amount of garlic on the naan. The butter chicken is good. It's more of sweet savoury than spicy. The paneer has generous amount of cheese cubes and it's not spicy. The cauliflower dish is tasty and full of flavours. I would order the butter chicken again and the garlic naan.

Food is okay, the butter chicken is tender and is not that spicy. The thailand food is weird, doesn’t taste like one. Probably using different spices. Place is clean, bhaiyya is also friendly. Kinda expensive because the butter chicken is >$11 yet the naan is not included. The naan itself is too oily i think. Garlic naan has decent garlic.

The mutton was tender enough to be able to slide off the bones… Would have been perfect if it was less salty… Portion would probably be enough for 2 small eaters…

Pleasant experience at the new outlet and in Safra choachukang. Really nice food and ambience. Very Friendly staffs. Tried the northern indian cuisine and was positively surprised with its authenticity in terms of taste and overall presentation. Theres even waffles and ice cream, perfect for desserts. Definitely will be back to give their thai dishes a taste and looking foward to be as impressed as during our first visit.

Personally loved the cafe look of the restaurant. Service was great and food was delivered quickly. The food was unique and special and the exclusive taste was different. Syed Cafe Exclusive Choa Chu Kang was overall a pleasant experience!

Good food. Situated next to the Giant supermarket. Ordered a mango lassi and a mutton kottu parata and for the both it was around SGD 13. when compared with the portion size the price seems fine. I think all the food items here are Halal. Can recommend.

I would order the butter chicken again and the garlic naan. Came back again to order white bee hoon goreng with ikan bilis. It's fantastic. Ikan bilis is fried till crispy and every bite, there is ikan bilis. The tandoori chicken biryani is good. The portion can be for 2pax.

For 5.40. I paid for a box of mee goreng. But what I have inside was 90% fried mee and 10% strands of green and cabbage, zero fish cake, and hardly any egg.. prob mashed up. I don't know how much mee and strips of veg cost. But this is not worth $5! This is way over priced . There is no way this should cost even $3. When there's no meat nor fish cake not even an egg omelette to have . I heard their food is nice, and gave it a try but left very disappointed. I had to fry my own egg sunnyside up and tomatoes to my own takeaway.

Had a ridiculous and most disappointing experience at Syed. Ordered naan and was asked by waiter what gravy I'd like to go with, he recommended butter chicken gravy which I was happy to try out. The 'gravy' came in a small dish with two small pieces of chicken about finger size. Photo shows as it was served. I was eventually billed $11.90 for Butter Chicken and not gravy as offered. Cashier claimed that naan doesn't come with any gravy like pratas, and it's an expensive dish even though it is a tiny bit. I've been there quite few times before but this is absolutely my last visit.

Delicious food - one of the best Mee goreng around, moist and flavourful. Serves killer teh-O limau panas too. Cashier was emotionless, did not look like she wanted to be there. Shop has air conditioned dining area as well as seats under a white tent... A bit warm to sit there at mid day on a humid day.

Heard about the new dishes at Syed cafe after their renovations. Went with my brother. We had Chicken Alfredo and Tom Yum fried rice. It looked delicious and tasted really good. We will definitely come back again with our family. Thank you for your great service Syed cafe 👍🏼

Craving not satisfied. Ordered Nasi goreng Tom Yum but no Tom Yum taste at all. Rice was sweet like cook with ketchup or just oyster sauce? Does your chef knows what Tom Yum taste like? Putting some lime leaves and lemongrass is not enough to call it Tom yum fried rice. Please correct the taste of this menu. Tandoori chicken was good but the Chatni was way watery. Very poor cooking preparation not worth paying your food.

Overpriced and taste is bad. Mee Kuah with mutton has very little mutton in it , Kuah tasted salty and I ask for fried egg and they just say they don’t do it. Price $8.40 as pictured. One of the worst mee Kuah with little or no effort preparing it. However, service was prompt and good. They have many staff standing around to take orders. However, due to the quality of food, will not come back again. Competition next door and opposite side of Simpang Bedok gives me alternative.

Went with a big group of friends and was invited warmly ! Everyone there was so nice and helped us a lot. Service was excellent. Received a complimentary birthday dessert when we wanted to purchase it for our friends birthday. Good ambient and feels homely place to hangout and eat. Food is very very good as well. All of us bought a lot of food and all was very delicious and up to standard at affordable price :) !!

The pratas were great - crispy yet fluffy! Served with fish curry. Naan and Butter Chicken were delicious too. Butter Chicken can share amongst 2-3 pax. Food was served fast. Fresh n hot
