I stumbled upon this little shawarma spot in Toa Payoh almost by accident while exiting the MRT, and curiosity got the better of me. It’s a compact takeaway-only shop, but what immediately stood out was how unexpectedly clean and organised it felt. There’s a surprisingly large open kitchen, a self-ordering machine, and a small waiting area where you can watch your food being prepared — which, honestly, adds a bit of charm to the whole experience.
The ordering kiosk, however, could use some serious fine-tuning. When I visited, the shop was running a 1-for-1 shawarma promotion, but the machine wasn’t properly configured. After selecting my shawarma, it bizarrely displayed nachos instead, and I wasn’t the only one confused, every customer ahead of me struggled with it too. It’s a small thing, but fixing it would make the experience far smoother and less stressful, especially during busy hours.
Behind the counter was an uncle carefully assembling each shawarma, with another helper keeping the kitchen spotless. He was meticulous and generous with the fillings think hearty portions of meat, fresh tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers though the process could benefit from a little multitasking to cut down waiting time. Still, the moment that creamy cheese sauce hit, I completely forgot about the wait.
In conclusion, despite a few operational hiccups, this is a comforting, satisfying shawarma stop that’s absolutely worth trying if you’re in the area.
